Wonder what this will be like :surprised:

I wonder if that vid was music for the film?

Can you imagine a Score by Coldplay? If they do it, they will add an Oscar to their trophies.

I actually think if they did one it wouldn't be very good. :anxious:

Totally the opposite feeling for me!

I think it'd be awesome and I've often thought about that.

Postcards could have easily been part of a soundtrack / trailer music / whatever.

Sounds like it in that article!

Hopefully it's true. :awesome:

Soundtrack! :nice:

Coldplay to finance new Brit film

Coldplay are putting up the cash for a new British film that is being shot on the Isle of Man, according to reports.

Ashes, which is being directed by Mat Whitecross, stars British actors Jim Sturgess and Ray Winstone.

The band’s members – Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion – will all act as executive producers on the upcoming flick.

Sturgess, who is currently starring in new movie One Day, revealed that the group’s lead singer Martin has yet to visit the set.

According to BBC Newsbeat, the 30-year-old actor said: 'He didn't. No, they were away being Coldplay. We were filming on the Isle of Man, so he had other things to do.

'It was amazing those guys helped us out with that film. I'm really proud of the film.'

Trailer For Coldplay-Backed Noir 'Ashes' Starring Ray Winstone, Jim Sturgess & Luke Evans

Remember when it was announced that Coldplay were co-financing a movie? No? Well, that was almost two years ago, and the fruits of their money's labor will now be seen in the finished product, "Ashes," a film noir that looks as confusing as it is generic, though it does boast Ray Winstone going blonde, "Memento"-style.

Co-starring Jim Sturgess, Luke Evans and Lesley Manville, it's unfortunate that the collective talents of all the actors, couldn't be in service of something better. Here's the synopsis: Jamie (Jim Sturgess), after many months of searching, finally tracks down his estranged father (Winstone), and together they embark on a dangerous road trip. However, with Frank becoming more unstable and Jamie's motives unclear, the journey gradually unravels their dark and sinister pasts.

Mat Whitecross, a frequent collaborator with the band who recently helmed their video for "Paradise" (and also directed the pretty terrible Ian Dury biopic "Sex And Drugs And Rock And Roll") got behind the camera here, and if the results look straight-to-DVD quality, well, that's because it is. The movie has skipped theaters and will land on DVD in the U.K. on January 28th. No word yet if or when it will cross the pond. Watch below.
