How do you actually think they're gonna release it?

Will it be an immediate release, or will there be a delay between the announcement and the release itself? Will it be a physical and digital release, or just digital? :thinking:

 

I dont think that anyone has a clue whats gonna happen.

I dont even know why we think its on Monday only because it stands in the Lyrics?

Its a Line of the Song doesnt mean it will be on that Day.

Hey I totally agree :lol: I think it's gonna be a digital release only but with all that teasing, I just can't picture them suddenly saying one day next week "congratulations, teasing is over, the song is called ??? and is available on iTunes, go get it". There has to be a delay! One week like Christmas Lights is too much, but 24 hours would be too short...

My thought was, if they upload a "The Scientist" Video out of nowhere that means they perhaps playing a different song instead of "The Scientist".

About the lyrics - I have no fear whatsoever. Of course they will not drastically change genre. They've done 4 great albums so far, I think we can trust their own judgement on their own music this time too. They have so many people working with them that I find it unbelievable if no one pointed out that they did not sound anything like Coldplay any more if that was the case.

They haven't disappointed me so far, so I don't see signs of them doing it now. Especially not since they have gone so much overtime with this album.

I am now 95% sure that they will play more than one new song at the festivals with all this new LP5 info gaining speed. Remember roadie 42's blog when he talked about how their instruments had been graffitied up etc. and when the oracle replied that they would have brand new suits and it would be a completely different theme. I just dont see how they can play just old songs with a completely new look!

I basically agreed with what you said but I really don't think they write their lyrics thinking that they need to "sound like themselves", it doesn't make sense to me. You don't make anything new by trying to do the same things again... and since Viva, they're all about moving on, changing.

I haven't seen any related video yet. By the energy, the color reminds me sort of icecream - haha, or stories of this "rainbow" man - coming to earth then leave etc.

That new lyric video is possibly the most awesome thing I've ever heard. I got chills when I heard it! :freak:

Yeah that's what I meant in a previous post. We're all focusing on the lyrics, while we should hear them in Chris' (gorgeous) voice and together with (equally gorgeous) music, because you can't judge them from just reading them.

So I'm trying to be open-minded about the lyrics, but I can't help liking some sentences better than others, for now. :shame:

i think by this point people are expecting something on Monday, because they've given us so many teasers now and they can only really give a few more before there's nothing left to give but the song itself. :P

Why do I sense an "OK Go" kind of vibe from the lyrics of this possible track(s) off of LP5? Dunno why, but I do.

 

I still am really craving a Smashing Pumpkins circa "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" vibe from LP5, though. I'm going through a Smashing Pumpkins phase right now, and I kind of love them. A lot. Not as much as Coldplay, of course. (No one can top Coldplay.) But definitely like the Pumpkins a bit more than Green Day. (Sorry, Billie Joe... I love you but you're just not Billy Corgan!)
