ColdplayingfromKansas
Don't you guys feel a little silly writing out oooh-oooh-ooooh? I think it's quite fun! Plus, Chris always sounds awesome during his 'ooh ooh ooh' parts in any song, so as long as he keeps singing them, I'll keep typing them!:wink3:

erik_avilez
I think it is "crocodiles" and not "clocks and dials", because you can clearly (?) hear an r in there. Bet those two lines were written while watching tv with his children :P The scene: "Look, Peter Pan is on again, daddy!" "Peter Pan... Captain Hook... Crocodiles... *jumping* MAJOR MINUS!" I'm pretty sure that makes sense. To Chris, of course. :smug:

CookyMnstr
:curtain:...no idea what the title refers to, but from the very first listen I always got the strong impression that it was about the paparazzi & maybe reporters/media--especially considering Chris's strong dislike of them. "they got one eye watching you, one eye on what you do, so be careful who it is you're talking to..."
Tryptophan
After hearing/seeing the Pinkpop version, the falsetto lyrics are a bit clearer. I'm positive it says: "Here I'm climbing the stairs I've got my right side fighting while my left hides under the chair"

ColdplayingfromKansas
^ Those lyrics make me think that maybe the narrator isn't sure if he wants to fight his destiny, or just hide away and wait until it finds him. It brings to mind a fight-or-flight response sort of thing. I kinda like it :nice:

givelovesolong
MAJOR MINUS Studio Version^ ----- They got one eye watching you, And one on what you do, So be careful who it is you’re talking to. They got one eye watching you, And one on what you do, So be careful what it is you’re trying to do. And be careful when you’re walking into view, Just be careful when you’re walking into view. Ooh-ooh-oooh, Ooh-ooh-oooh-ooh. Got one eye on the road and one on you. Ooh-ooh-oooh, Ooh-ooh-oooh-ooh. Got one eye on the road and one on you*. They got one eye watching you, And one on what you do, So be careful ‘cause nothing they say is true. And then we don’t believe a word, It’s just us against the world, And we just got to turn up to be heard. Hear those crocodiles ticking ‘round the world, Hear those crocodiles ticking, they go ticking ‘round the world. Ooh-ooh-oooh, Ooh-ooh-oooh-ooh. Got one eye on the road and one on you. Ooh-ooh-oooh, Ooh-ooh-oooh-ooh. Got one eye on the road and one on you*. You can hear them climbing the stairs, I got my right side fighting while my left hides under the chairs. Ooh-ooh-oooh, Ooh-ooh-oooh-ooh. Got one eye on the road and one on you. Ooh-ooh-oooh, Ooh-ooh-oooh-ooh. Got one eye on the road and one on you. ----- ^My interpretation. *Technically, you don't actually hear these sung. I really, really love this song. Samuel_94
What if the: "hear them climbing the stairs, i've got my right side fighting while my left hides under the chairs" bit is a reference to when Anne Frank and her family was found hiding on the floor above her father's work office????? Nice find! I'm not to familiar with Anne Frank's Diary [i know, I know...] but that would seem to fit the theme of the album pretty well :)

RedBalloon
To be honest i'm not that familar with the diary either, i haven't read it but i did watch a BBC drama of it a while ago! Weird! :wink3: :) Last time when I was in NYC, I visited Museum of Jewish Heritage. There was an Anne Frank [not sure it is a permanent or short term] Exhibition there. When I googled, there is even an Anne Frank Center as well. As mentioned previously, one of the inspirational sources of LP5 comes from White Rose Movement when Chris was in NYC? If so, it is highly possible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rose "they opposed the Third Reich in the face of death." - I think this might be the scene relating to a few songs.
