August 11, 200916 yr So no more albums in the old-fashion sense, instead stand-alone singles and EPs. Great news :D
August 11, 200916 yr people on atease have been complaining about it. personally i think it's also great news! I mean it takes pressure off the band to release another album that has to compete with their other albums. I dunno why but also after In Rainbows was released I had a feeling that I couldn't really picture another radiohead album following it up. I'm not saying that they shouldn't, because they should... it was just a gut feeling
August 11, 200916 yr I still think they will release it one day; they need to earn money somehow anyway.

August 12, 200916 yr i fear that the death of the LP is near. Full length albums are a lot of work, and people are not buying them, so what is the point? At least that is the perspective that I am assuming a lot of artist will take. My hope is that they would continue making full length albums, however, cut down on the number of tracks. I don't like listening to albums that have 14 songs, anyhow. Cut the length down to 7-9 strong, cohesive songs. Everything else you are working on that does not fit into the context of the album could then be released as an EP. That's what I would like to see.
August 12, 200916 yr ^^ i like the sound of that. i've just noticed that all of my favourite albums from the last few years have been less than 40mins long. the strokes and arctic monkeys debut's are the two best examples. and you go back to the 60s and 70s with the beatles and led zeppelin and all their albums were around that 40mins mark too except of course their double albums. i think the beatles only had 2 albums longer than 40mins and all of led zep's best work was about the same in length.
August 12, 200916 yr [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZAIZjc4rUc]YouTube - Radiohead - Harry Patch (In Memory Of) [NEW SONG][/ame] & you can download it from here for £ 1.00, proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion.
August 12, 200916 yr Harry Patch was the most requested song on triple j radio tonight. its been doing well all week.
August 12, 200916 yr I think albums should cut down their songs. To me it makes a fuller album rather than filler songs, like Ride the Lightning and MOP by Metallica and Led Zeppelins albums too. I think it sems more cooler aswell, dunno why:P But yeah I came to say Johnny Greenwood Rocks, not that you didn't know that already. He is up there with the best.
August 12, 200916 yr The pics of the band in the abbey, what abbey is it?? How far has this album come along?
August 12, 200916 yr The pics of the band in the abbey, what abbey is it?? How far has this album come along? No idea what abbey. The band are working in the studio right now but Thom had an interview in which he was aiming towards not releasing a new album but EP's... however Thom has been saying this for a long time. But i dunno. It seems also that they might release digital single songs as well. Right now all we know is that they are working on new songs and that they are playing a few shows in about a week, but that's about it. The band have been fairly quite as to how things are going (less DAS posts, few interviews, etc) On a side note, Phil was doing a short interview with Neil Finn about his new project. He does mention Radiohead at the end as well. From his response it seems as though this EP thing might be true, because the question asks if there will be another Radiohead album, and he doesn't answer but says they are working on new material. He's done the bridge school and latitude. Also he did a solo set at the trade justice rally back in 2005 where he did the following songs: 01.Last Flowers 02.House Of Cards 03.Nude 04.No Surprises 05.Reckoner (Not from In Rainbows... AKA. August 12, 200916 yr Put it this way, would you prefer a new single (say one track) released every month or an album of say 12 tracks every year? hmm... I guess it'd prefer an album because it'd probably overplay that one song waiting for the next. It'd be cool if instead of waiting a month they did a new song a week or something, or one song per day. I think that an EP would be cool if they didn't release an album. But I see what you mean.

Thank you, Mike...you're my Radiohead guide! :P
August 12, 200916 yr also within a week, the band is playing a few shows. I really can't wait to see what they play. I mean Thom debuted "The Present Tense", and had another song on his setlist "Give Up Ghost". Do you guys think that the band will play any new songs? I have a feeling that they'll play at least one. It'd be great to hear a full band version of the Present Tense... it sounds really great from the soundcheck they did of it even though it's not that good
August 12, 200916 yr I forgot to tell you guys, but the last 2 nights i've had dreams relating to Radiohead. The first one was about my going to one of their shows, and at first watching them from a distance. Then I sneaked forward to the front row, but it was weird because it then appeared I was at my old highschool auditorium. The band played a few songs (I think they played Harry Patch or some new song), and Thom was playing the drums as well on a side stage. The other dream I had was last night where I met the band. I remember how I really wanted to get an autograph and I think I did. Then also I remember having a conversation with Jonny and Thom about music as well and it was really cool because they seemed like normal people. Then I think I had dinner with the whole band which was cool. That's all I remember, but they were really cool dreams.
