I know that it is still words about the future, but, like the thread title suggests, what are your thoughts about their new single? And also, feel free to leave your opinion about the future of the band.

 

I either believe that it will be some sort of happy song like "Strawberry Swing" or "Speed of Sound", or that it will be a paradoxical music.

It would be awesome if "Paradise" has piano!!!!! I hope that the piano will be epic (it normally is XD)!!!!

I expect a power ballad with epic strings and a choir and Chris's sexy falsetto.

I expect something out of this world.

well may i'm in the mood, but i'd be happy it be only instrumental track, of the sorts of Bonobo's last album and if it have lyrics to be some mainly piano track as Shearwater's Hidden Lakes.

A cross between Clocks and Viva La Vida. Sweeping arpeggio, heavenly harmonies and a thumping drum beat from Will.

 

But if it's half as good as I'm expecting, I'll be over the moon. :D

I expect a not too loud song with beautiful harmonies, some duet or "band"-parts (Chris and Will or everybody). In the background there is a soft guitar but in the foreground there will be a piano...at the end also strings are added. The word to describe the song is for me: heavenly!

I expect a hard rocking power song with riffs that are out of this world churned out by jonny and Chris singing in Robert Plant style...just saying...

I'm hoping for some bright acoustic guitar-y intro that explodes with a riff from Jonny that's like a hybrid of In My Place and Strawberry Swing. As a lead single, I would be really surprised by a dark song named Paradise (but that could be interesting and with Coldplay you never know!)

I would describe the same for every Coldplay content. So I believe it will be something like that.

In the billboard interview it describe Paradise as a "bold anthem". I hope its a piano ballad type anthem rather than a pop anthem with lots of strings like Viva La Vida even though that was good.

Something like Politik, I reckon.

 

I'm of the idea that Paradise's name is ironic...I bet it'll be about the perception of a place or idea as paradise which in reality sucks the soul or something. Perhaps, it gives an outsider's perspective of what we humans think to be paradise.

They mentioned how Chris sounded like a narrator in Paradise, so it'll tell of a story of some kind I reckon. Since it's a single though it might be an overproduced mess like ETIAW. I hope not, but for now I'm going to assume it is so there's no way I can be disappointed when it's released.

Moving to Mars and Major Minus are the overproduced ones...As for ETIAW, it wouldn't sound good any other way. :\

I get the feeling this song will be one of the hits of the album, if not, THE hit. Most people will like it. At least I hope so...

Yeah, it's interesting how music (and art in general) affects people in different ways. Some people hate ETIAW, some people love it. It's just one of those things.
