But one thing is sure: This single will not nearly be as big as Clocks, Speed of Sound or Viva La Vida. That said... I think MX will be the first album without a big hit and I think it won´t sell as much copies as VIva La Vida... not nearly as much. Of course, theres a brilliant sounding Charlie Brown, but its not THAT great ( for mainstream ). And singles that release before the album does should be big. It was Etiaw and Paradise.

EMI needs to sale, and we haven't heard the full song, maybe becomes a hit..

Well, Charlie Brown would have been to obvious, Coldplay said... but in my opinion big hits need a strong melody. Paradise has some nice tunes, but I think Charlie Brown would have been the better single, commercial spoken.

 

Of course the song will build up.... there will be Jonnys guitar later and I think the refrain will be like the beginning of those 30 seconds, just with some singing of Chris Martin. But thats not enough for a real hit, I guess.

It sounds like a top ten pop song to me. I hate most pop music and I'm kind of sad the boys are taking this route. However, it's only a preview, and I still have hope in the song. They've never made a total piece of crap before, well... Actually the have. It's called Every Teardrop. :P

The way things are shaping up, I'd have to agree with you. Although if MX is going to have a big hit, my money is on Up In Flames :nod:

 

As for selling as many copies as Viva . . . I'm thinking it will either blow it out of the water, or sell somewhere in the range of 12-13m
