I'm sorry for starting yet another Paradise thread...

 

But I was wondering if any of you would be bold enough to tell the band your honest opinion if you met them face to face.

I was inspired by the Bakery/Beehive encounters, which are not so rare and by the fact that Chris was curious about the fans' opinion recently.

 

I personally don't know what I would do, I'm sure I wouldn't be acting too enthusiastically, but it would be really difficult to tell them I don't like it straight away.

What about you?

i doubt i'll meet them face to face.... but i'm seriously considering that those who honestly finally won't like the song on the album -i'm giving the whole concept thing a try when the album be released may be that way it'll make more sense and fits better- that we should start to sing Hartroc's alternative version in Coldplay concerts, as a protest.

could they ban us from the venue as when people started to ask/sing for Bryan Adams songs in Ryan Adams concert, which drove him nuts?

and i don't want to start a war, but the idea has honestly cross my mind.... may i should calm down... even if i don't like the song after the album is released, after all is just one song of the new 14.

Knowing me yes I would, I wouldn't want to lie to myself or to them just to please them and make them think everyone loves everything they do, they're adult enough to take the criticism, which is what i can't say of some people on this board.

In all sincerity, I would definitely say I don't like it. What, if Chris Martin expects from people no less than praise his songs to the skies, he may as well fuck off. I wouldn't bash the song though, I'd just answer his question. And for the record, I'd praise to the skies almost everything he's done before MX.

Well, you told Chris about the X-factor and he seems to respect that advice!

 

It would be extremely difficult to tell them anything negative, but I'm sure they would appreciate honest opinion from true fans more than pretending they love everything they do...

 

Last year when I met Chris, I told him I can't wait for the new album, he told me he hoped it won't dissappoint me... And I replied that I don't think they could ever dissappoint me.

And now I'm sorry to say I was wrong. :cry:

I think my problem with telling them now is that it's not gonna change anything and then they've got to go and promote it knowing that quite a few people hate it, which isn't really my problem, I know. Like Denise said they're big boys.

 

I think I'd be more comfortable telling them once it's been out for a while.

Now I like Paradise, but I can imagine that even if I did not like it, it would kinda tough to express the full spectrum of my disliking to Chris´wide-eyed excited face. Kinda like when a child comes to you with an awful drawing and you put up a smile and say "That´s wonderful!" hehe Not saying they would not be able to handle criticism: of course they would. But I would definitely go easy and be gentle if I told them I did not like it :)

To answer the question, if they asked me what I thought-- I'd be honest, but I couldn't be as brutal as I have been on here.

 

I think my answer would be: 'It's not exactly to my style or taste of music. I've liked everything you've done up until now though.'

Given the chance, I would, I feel the best way to to give criticism is to give the good and the bad, I would say i did not think it was their best work but point i am looking forward to the rest of the album and love CB immensely. But i think the question is, do they take our thoughts and feelings into consideration? do they listen to us and use that criticism? they have a ton of people around them telling them they are wonderful and the song is a amazing but would they and do they actually listen to us, the long standing fans?

Yeah, I'm as well interested in how the band would react to negative feedback.

same here but it's not because I don't like upsetting people because I don't care, but I think I'd be too nervous to actually say something :lol:

 

I'd probably try to say that CB or HLH would have been better singles, and I'd ask them why didn't include MTM in the album, I'd tell them that MTM is way better than Paradise and ETIAW

i wouldn't have the guts to brake their heart after all its some work,but this is referring only to paradise and the fact they called Rihanna to fuck up their brilliant song princess of china,oh and i will also tell them to kick brian eno and release major minus once more like its on the live version ...the rest of the songs are genius

I'd be too busy trying to actually get a clear picture of me with a member of the band for once (curse ye Butterfingers!!!). One that isn't from an odd side angle with my head down.

I would tell them without a doubt. I don't care how mush effort they've supposedly put into it, if the end product isn't good enough then I'll tell them so.

I think they'd rather know.

 

It's sort of like if your friend has really bad BO. Wouldn't they rather you tell them quietly so they can fix it than let them walk around smelly all day? :laugh3:
