mrman78
I saw an ad for that show GLEE tonight and they were playing a version of 'Fix You' obviously sung by members of the cast. Does this mean next week will be a Coldplay-centric episode?! I don't watch the show, but does anyone else know anything about this?
Kiame
aw shit. I really don't want this to happen. I really, really don't. Fix You means a lot to me, and the more and more I see it appear on television shows the less and less the memory of the song means to me. I think Thom Yorke said it best: "If you sell your music for like, a card ad, then you're selling everybody's memory of that music and robbing them of it. The whole point of music is about triggering memories for people. That's what it is, that's what it does. If you rob people of that, then whats the point of being a musician?" As much as I think Mr Yorke is a total douchebag, he is right on the money there. This really does dishearten me to learn this.

And barf to Fix You being on Glee... One of the reasons I loved coldplay so much was because they were against selling their music... sighh. F1-77
It's just one song guys, this season they're not doing as many theme episodes, so I doubt it'll be a Coldplay-themed episode. I mean, they're not all going to start singing "Chinese Sleep Chant" in the cafeteria, are they? :)
Destrokk
i have an idea; Get a gun and shoot me in the head. I know this is just one song, but it's THIS, TWILIGHT, RHIANNA ok I'M DONE
notlost92
:bigcry: I will only be happy if Darren Criss sings it, cause he's the love of my life. Otherwise, I am quite unhappy, seeing as Glee is my least favorite show on television.

coldplaymom
Some of us would not be fans of Coldplay today if some tv show didn't play their music. I'm here b/c a contestant on The Voice performed Fix you. I'm all for Coldplay music being exposed to a wider audience. I'm sure the band is too. Why stop at Glee? Why not allow their music to be used for random car commercials now? Or being used as intro music for TV shows? Why don't they just endorse an official soft drink while they're at it?

LFDianne
What's the big deal about Fix You being featured on Glee? Charlie Brown was featured on some advert a couple of weeks ago. I remember Clocks, of all songs for Pete's sake, being featured in the trailer for Peter Pan a few years ago. Remember when Coldplay were on The Simpsons? Glee has used many songs from Barbra Streisand to Kiss to John Lennon to Jay-Z, any many, many others, even R.E,M. it's just a song on a tv show. rousi
I've been here for a while and I can't understand some people behavior. I just heard a little bit of the cover and it sounds good. Of course I prefer Chirs singing Fix You, and that song means a lot to me, but come on....it is just a song P.S. For those who agree with Tom Yorke....He did appear in a Twilight soundtrack... Fairycat101
I think it's great exposure for the band. Love or hate hate show, but half the songs used on Glee have gone straight to the top of the charts. While the Glee version may not be everyone's taste, I feel that it's quite a compliment that Glee wants to use Coldplay's song. It's a great way to expose younger audiences to good music, 99% of teens would never have known "Don't Stop Believing" or "Somebody To Love" if it hadn't been for Glee. rubbbyyV
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcaVZKjdVA4&feature=player_embedded]Glee 3x03 - "Asian F" Promo (HD) - YouTube[/ame] I have absolutely no problem with them being on Glee. The only problem I have is the fact that Will Shuester is singing it. From what I've heard so far I'm not going to be a fan of that version. I do like the added background singers, it makes it seem like a live version of Fix You. :)

mrman78
It almost feels like they are freaking out that they're getting older and think they aren't 'cool' anymore so they are resorting to things that appeal to a younger audience... When there's one person freaking out about age in Coldplay then it's surely Chris! Isn't he the one who's always worrying about his hair falling out?
