Coldplay has the best opening tracks of any artists I think. All of their opening tracks, excluding Don't Panic, could open up their shows perfectly...and they have. I have seen Square One and Life in Technicolor open up their shows live but Politik would have to be the best.

For live shows, I think Life In Technicolor is the best one.

tough call for me, since Square one is one of my favorites. But I think that definitely it is Politik.

Hmmm there's no easy answer to this. I think each song makes the perfect opener to its respective album, but taken out of context of the albums there can be no greater than the mighty Politik! But Square One is definitely a close second :)

Ahhhh this is a tough one. Life in Technicolor is one of my favorites, but I think I'm gonna have to go with Politik.

Although I understood why lots of people vote Politik, I'll still vote Life in Technicolor. I was just totally blown away by that introduction. I was discovering Coldplay and it felt like entering a new dimension. Amazing.

Don't Panic is my favorite Coldplay song, easy choice :)

Politik, Square One and Mylo Xyloto are all awesome songs, but as a starter I think Life In Technicolor works better it feels like a prelude to the amazing album Viva is. MX tries to do the same. And lets face it, Coldplay knows how to start an album.

Wow, I was discussing the same thing with my friends the other day...

Even tho I love Square One, and Politik is def one of my favorites, Life in Technicolour is the perfect soundtrack for the "dream" that is the Coldplay live experience. Aaaaaand it puts you right in the mood for the Viva Era.

Square has the same effect, but not in the same way and Politik is awesome, but it doesnt scream AROBTTH, imo.

Torn between Politik and Life in Technicolor. As an album opener, I think I prefer Politik but as a show opener, I like LiT.

politik is a great opener for an album and concert.
