The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You

I think it could be cool hearing those kind of things from Matt's guitar, but apart from that the dubstep thing seems like a gimmick that will probably not be that significant on the album, putting it in the "trailer" to get people talking about it.

Now that I've actually watched the trailer, I don't understand why everyone's making such a big deal about it. The ending actually reminds me more of drum & bass than it does dubstep. Not so much Skrillex (), but more like Pendulum (). I don't think it sounds that bad, honestly.

Skrillex is indeed NOT pure dubstep, but he's become the defining face anyway. I, of course, still hate him. About a year-and-a-half ago, I was at Coachella watching The Drums in the early afternoon, and Skrillex was playing one tent over (no one knew who he was yet) and we were getting this AWFUL BLEED the whole time and I couldn't enjoy The Drums. And that was the beginning of my ever-growing Skrillex hatred.

We've already lost Ellie Goulding to him. :laugh3::cry:

I've applied for tickets as pre sale for the second night at the O2. Hope I get them.

Also, I like it too, but there's only so much of that sound I can take so hopefully there's only one or two songs like it. :P

Yeah, i do quite like that sound but i don't think i'd want the whole album to sound like that.

Anyway, i've also applied for O2 tickets, hope i get them. But if not i can still try for tickets in the general sale on 14th June as i'm not at work that day.

Wow, I hadn't seen the trailer, and I like it , but what's the whole problem with the eletronic sound in the end? I really like it, if the music in the trailer is really part of the album and it's style this is shaping up quite good.

I haven't listened to it and I still call shenanigans.

You'd think people would approach with more caution 50 leaks later, but no, it feels like the Muse fan populace is getting younger and dumber...

This is very interesting. The 2nd Law is already shaping up to being one of the most controversial albums for a while. The King of Limbs, MX, now this. All three are controversial, but I love that these bands are growing and experimenting with new sounds. I hate dubstep, but I liked the trailer (at least it's on guitar). We'll see how it goes I guess, but I'm not nearly as afraid as half the fans are.
