At 11pm there will be an Absolute Radio 00s special hosted by Pete Donaldson featuring some of Coldplay’s classic tracks.

Coldplay going out live on Absolute

Absolute Radio is to broadcast live the first London date of Coldplay’s forthcoming UK tour.

The gig at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium will go out in full, completely live and uninterrupted, from 9pm on Friday, June 1 as part of a Coldplay Hometime Show special hosted by Geoff Lloyd.

The show will begin at 5pm that evening with Lloyd backstage at the gig and he will be talking to the Parlophone act just ahead of them going on stage to perform. It will all be followed at 11pm by Pete Donaldson hosting a Coldplay special on sister digital station Absolute Radio 00s where he will play some of the band’s classic tracks.

Concert highlights will also feature the following week on Absolute’s breakfast show when Lloyd sits in for regular host Christian O’Connell.

In the days leading up to June 1 Lloyd will be offering listeners a chance for them to win tickets to the sold-out gig.

The coverage comes part of a summer's line-up of live music on Absolute to also include coverage of the Isle If Wight Festival, Hard Rock Calling, Cornburyv Festival, Latitude and 80s Rewind.

So no swearing for that concert then.

I imagine Chris dropping the F bomb and then saying something like: Shit, we're on radio!

June 1st...last day of my internship! I finish at 7 pm....be home by 7.30...which makes it 6.30 in London...Well I'll miss a part of the backstage, if I'm lucky I won't miss the interview if there's one :D

Hmm ..now chris just tell us about that EP

I want CK!!!

OK that was disappointing. Not really MASSIVE news was it?

However I DID try calling in. I am going on 2nd, so you know, getting tickets for 1st as well would have been awesome... but just so that you know I WOULD have known the words LOL! I got through the first time and they HUNG up on me! It rang for ages, and ages.. so I put it on speakerphone. They picked up and I grabbed it, it must have taken me all of 2 seconds... but by the time I said.. hello they were gone! So flipping quick!!

I am almost glad I didn't get though though! How embarrassing would that have been!? :laugh3: You'd all have heard me singing really really badly!

This is probably a stupid question but the broadcast will be audio only, right?

Also, I literally had a dream last night that the announcement was about a new EP named "Anchorman's Maytag" or something like that. lol.

:(

I slept at 2 am here in Mexico just to hear the MASSIVE news... they've had a lot of Live streamings that now for me this is everything but massive.

totally disappointed I went to bed.

Hm... I was a little bit disappointed although it's a nice announcement. But I took 'massive' literally, so I had high requirements to this announcement (something about the DVD etc.) But finally, it's okay.

wow this is amazing :D i can't wait :escaping:

lol, "massive" wasn't really the appropriate word to use...-_-

but still great news! I already know I'll be spending 6-7 hours on the website just for all the Coldplay segments! ahaha

So no swearing for that concert then.

Nah, just the old 7 second delay.;)
