August 23, 201213 yr X&Y > AROBTTH here too. I love that album and I loved that era. And THP is one of my all time favourite Coldplay songs! THIS!!! (although I do agree that the video is creepy)
August 23, 201213 yr X&Y better than ARoBttH? IMPOSSIBRUUU! Personally, I just love the heck out of ARoBttH, much better than X&Y by a hair, in my humble, honest, opinion.

August 23, 201213 yr Oh yes! And even the album cover is way more awesome! Yes it is... I love the way they incorporated elements of crop glyphs on the cover. It was like an extension of the underlying message behind the song, Talk, IMO. X&Y is easily my favoite Coldplay album, and my fouth overall favorite album of time!
August 23, 201213 yr There's more songs I like on X&Y, but, AROBTTH comes across as a better complete album, you can enjoy it more as a whole piece. You're more likely to skip tracks on X&Y, and I also find X&Y to be too long.

It flows nicely. Much like Mylo Xyloto (And not just because of the transition songs :P) But X&Y will still have that special place, all because of the #1 song of all time.

August 24, 201213 yr I love AROBTTH, but X&Y lyrics are more prominent to me, in this moment of my life. Just like medicine for the soul :) EDIT: Yeah, I think X&Y is better.
August 24, 201213 yr ^ The lyrics are more important to me as well! But I think when I listen to these two albums, I am in different moods. :bomb:
August 24, 201213 yr Abso-fucking-lutely. AROBTTH is nice and all, but X&Y is tremendous because how personal most every song is. A Message is my all-time favorite Coldplay song, with Til Kingdom Come closely behind. I have had a lot of personal experiences - both good and bad - tied to this album, and I think it will be a long time before Coldplay will come up with something better than this. It's a shame the media tore this album, and the band at times, to bits with this album. People wanted another Clocks, and got something better, so they bitch. EDIT: Aaaand now I'm listening to X&Y.
August 24, 201213 yr I'm not gonna read through this whole thread but to anwser the original question yes, I do like it more. I know alot of people don't like it as much but it just fits my musical tastes. It's like Coldplay at their atherical space rock finest. I love it and I don't wanna hear anyone tell me I can't! People say it's too long but for me it's one of the albums I've listened to all the way through most. It has such a cohesive feel to me. This album had an effect on me and I absolutley love it.:D There is more emotion in that album for me then I can even start to explain. I hope one day Chris will ignore the press and realize what a great album it is.
August 24, 201213 yr What I always minded about X&Y is there are too many songs on it. It would have been better if (IMO) didn't have What If, Speed of Sound, Low and maybe one more song... Cause there are many similar songs there! But even then I wouldn't find it better than A Rush. :)
August 24, 201213 yr A Message is my all-time favorite Coldplay song, with Til Kingdom Come closely behind. :surprised: A Message is my favorite Coldplay song, too. :wacky:
August 25, 201213 yr Author I don't see why people don't love What If. The lyrics are brilliant, and I've never heard a song quite like it.
August 25, 201213 yr A Message and In My Place are sisters. There will never be a couple of songs like them.
August 25, 201213 yr its certainly nice to see X&Y has so many admirers. its definitely their most underrated album. but is it better than a rush?! never in a trillion years. yes its some people's favourite album from the band, but so is MX(which is ridiculous), and that doesn't mean they're better albums. nothing they've ever done will come close to that. and never will the direction they're going. VLV came close but....
August 25, 201213 yr I love both albums. As someone here said earlier, it depends on my mood. However, I guess if I was on a dessert island and only allowed to take one or the other with me, I'd probably choose Rush.. because I can't live without Clocks.
August 25, 201213 yr Songs I absolutely LOVVVEEEE and would shoot myself if i didnt have them from x&Y •Talk •A Message •The Hardest Part •Swallowed In The Sea Songs I absolutely LOVVVEEEE and would shoot myself if i didnt have them from AROBTTH •Politik •In My Place •God Put A Smile Upon Your Face •Amsterdam •a rush of blood to the head •warning sign So more songs in AROBTTH :/
