Well I thought it was the perfect gig and put me right in the xmas mood - everything was spot on. They ran it perfectly - no big gaps between things - great line up, great vibe...perfect.

I have to say the only thing I wasnt that bothered about was David Brent but minor detail.

The crowd reaction to Robbie Williams - whatever you think of him, when he walked on the place went mad...and I mean mad.

Coldplay absolutely delivered - everyone was jumping and they just look like they are enjoying it as much as everyone else which is lovely to see.

Wicked!!

Thank you for the review and the gorgeous photos and videos Jason, and it was nice to meet you. :D

Love the photo of us under the 'space blankets'! Yes we looked ridiculous, but I really DO recommend them.. they work! :D

I think you all were really just trying to signal aliens... :P

That wasn't my video, but that person must have been right around me. Possibly Oz? I'll ask him.

OK : )

It was so nice to meet you and hang out this week Tash.

I think to get the David Brent jokes you had needed to watch the original office.

I did and liked it...I have a love / hate relationship with Ricky Gervais - he is a genius but I don't like some of his material which is so say ironic on touchie subjects.

For me this was Ricky Gervais playing out his own dream...David Brent.

But hey its all subjective and if you loved it fair play...it just didnt work for me.

Thanks for the great review and all the pics and vids. I also read your articles on the viva guitar and the "hidden gig". So much joy reading them. Excellent work.

And congrats on having the viva guitar.

Absolutely a one of a kind thing to own.

Great article, photos, and video!

Funny you should make that comment about Jonny's guitar being especially present - I noticed on Clocks and Paradise, Jonny did a couple extra things [though the fact that he was using a Telecaster instead of Strat on Paradise prevented him from making the solo extra-good as it was in the MX era]. Atlas was clearly a fun time for Jonny - slide and ebow, a combo we haven't seen since, you named it, See You Soon. In particular though, Jonny played electric on Christmas Lights where previously he played acoustic guitar. Hence, he really shined through on the solo near the end of the song as well as throughout - and I noticed this because after hearing the last few live versions, I would always think to myself "I wish Jonny would play the electric on this so we could hear that damn solo!" And indeed - he started playing the solo in the 2011 rendition of the song, but still on acoustic. So he kind of granted my wish here by playing it on electric.

That's my long Jonny rant for the day. :)

Jonny rants are just about the best Christmas present ever! Thank you so much for sharing that story! :-) :-)

Thanks so much for the insights - I have no musical talent, so you picked up on some technical stuff I "heard", but wouldn't quite know how to make sense of it in such a way. :)

Really like the drawing style of "Under 1 Roof" poster and how it is nice to have this for the kids or someone who might not have a home/friends/relatives to celebrate in an union way, around Christmas - so comes to this Under 1 Roof theme to share a bit love/warm with those lonely hearts in cold/snow...

As for the "shinning bands" photo, looks like a scene in the universe; maybe, every Co. Live would be a "Journey to the Galaxy" [now we've got the "spaceship crew" lol - who is the captain?! maybe the Atlantic would operate and coordinate with all the necessities - passengers in long long lines, and I am waiting for my due ticket :) one day within this life] that would be super precious and it also attracts other interested creatures in UFOs pondering with their weird but lovely eyes: "what is this new thing from the earth and do we need to follow up? ...it looks like a train full of what, *fruits* they are called on earth, bwahaa." "Yes," The captain of the fruit train nodded with a satisfatory smile:"Cause we've invented Fruit suites to avoid unfriendly monitoring, yeash!"

Sorry, just some random inspirations from *Uranus*~ thanks for all the sharing. Waiting for the ticket design:)~ and I am available to help if they would adopt this idea, lol:) or they may ask Prof. Giraffe with the *cosmic anttenas*

Hallo there!

Finally at home and trying to take it all in.

The gig was amazing, from the all-day queuing until the last bow. Just perfect!

I'm afraid I'm not able to write a lengthy review and I probably wouldn't add anything new to what's already been written.

Even my pictures are useless as I had a very crappy camera, but there were many amazing photographers around me, so there was no point in trying. I only made some very blurry pics to catch the atmosphere, I'll add them to my sig.

I was so happy to meet all the other coldplayers in the queue, some of which I've met before in Liverpool and some for the first time, and hopefully not the last time. It was a real pleasure to spend the time and share the experience with you. As Chris says, Coldplay really have the best fans in the world!

Thank you to everyone, who was taking pictures and videos and made it even more memorable and available to people who could not have been there!

I love the fact that the crowd was so diverse, in terms of countries we came from and also age groups. It shows really well how Coldplay's music speaks to many different people.

The only trouble is that it's highly addictive and already now, a few days after, I can't wait for the next gig! :D

I hope everyone had a safe journey home! And Merry Christmas!

See you soon! :wacky:
