We need more votes!!

Maybe people like @alisbe or @Nie could vote?

Or perhaps @anthamic wouldn't mind dropping the ii off his vote?? ;)

Maybe @anthamic could change his vote to Always in my head so we can get rid of these pesky Newplay songs quickly and get down to the real competition? :P

Also people like @beastwars and @prospekt46 could join the conversation?

Please keep in mind that this is not an oldplay vs newplay elimination game, but one in which we eliminate based on how well each song does of opening its respective album :)

Of course but it still stands to reason that people who prefer the older material would think Politik is a much better opener than A Head Full Of Dreams, for example.

I don't know how these things work but I will do this:

Best to Worst

Politik

Life in Technicolor, I don't count ii as the same song because LiT has part of the Jon Hopkins sample that comes back in The Escapist to tie the album together. LiT ii is a single in my mind.

Always in My Head

Square One

Don't Panic

MX/HLH

AHFOD

Worst

It's funny that some of these songs could be arranged differently if they were being assessed on their individual qualities but as album openers they fall into place another way.

You vote for the song you want to be eliminated...so I'm assuming thats a vote for AHFOD?

Current standings:

Life in Technicolor - 4

Always in My Head - 4

Life in Technicolor ii - 1

A Head Full of Dreams - 1

Hurts Like Heaven - 1

Don't Panic - 1

Voting is now restricted to Life in Technicolor or Always in my Head!

The next person to vote one of those two songs or change their vote to one of those two songs will decide the outcome of this round!

I'll change my vote for Life in Technicolor
