The Offical "The Killers" Thread

Those are two of the best from the dvd. Read My Mind is probably my favorite Killers song, and the acoustic Sam's Town is just so much better than the album version, and both were performed greatly :)

I only like the live version of Read My Mind and the acoustic version of Sam's Town is way better than the album version!

Yeah. No question about that! I actually prefer the album Read My Mind better though  Although when the fans are shouting the lyrics in the live version, it really adds to it.

As much as I love the acoustic version, Sam's Town live as opener for the Sam's Town tour is better than any other versions of that song, for me

ok, now that I mentioned it I need to go listen to it

:escaping:

I really like Day & Age.

I'll get to Sams Town laturz.

And then Hot Fuss.

I listened to Bones today. :wacky: Now it's stuck in my head :bigcry:

I loved Day & Age! But get Hot Fuss first, then Sam's Town. I got Sam's Town first, and it was disappointing, to be honest :\

Day & Age is my favorite. I can't decide whether I like Hot Fuss or Sam's Town better.

Day & Age is my favorite, too. :wacky: but i think i like more songs from Sam's Town than Hot Fuss.

mmmhhh may I ask a question? Which album did you listen to as first?

My favourite is Sam's Town but Hot Fuss is really close..Day & Age laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags behind, like 10000km behind, I would have never become a fan if Day & Age were their first album :uhoh:

Day & Age is the same as any other Killers album for me - half is great, the rest is ok.

Day and Age. :shame::shame: okay, i am just too biased with D&A because A Dustland Fairytale is my fave The Killers Song that's why I always consider it as my fave album. :P :laugh3: and yes it's also because it's the first album i listened to.

Hmm I'd think that as an album Hot Fuss is probably my favourite... but in saying that I also love Sam's Town AND Day & Age, although Sam's Town probably has more stand-out songs on it. I absolutely adore A Dustland Fairytale, though.

I 100% agree with this! I still consider myself a big Killers fan but only like about half of each album!

I think:

Hot Fuss>Day & Age>Sam's Town

I love love love A Dustland Fairytale as well, it's my favourite from Day & Age hands down, but I realised this is because it could have fitted in Sam's Town without problems, the epicness is so sam's town's, the video has been directed by the same director of When You Were Young (Anthony Mandler) for a reason and I think it's a bit out of place in day & age, but that's just my feeling :)

Haha good question. . . I did listen to D&A first, then Sawdust, then Sam's Town, then Hot Fuss. I went backwards

I think that the reason I loved D&A is Brandon's singing. It's a different style then the previous albums, it almost seems smoother.

Day & Age is the same as any other Killers album for me - half is great, the rest is ok.

well put.

Certainly, A Dustland Fairytale would have fit better on Sam's Town. It, probably more than any other Killer's song, captures the Bruce Springsteen type vibe that runs throughout Sam's Town.

D&A has less of a well defined theme than the previous two albums. It's more of a hodge-podge of songs. Not to say thats bad; its simply is what it is.

I've noticed that usually the best Killers songs are the singles, and the other songs bring down the overall feel of the album

The singles are supposed to be the best, but the rest of the album needs to be just as good so it goes over well. I just don't get that feel from Sam's Town.

mmmhhh may I ask a question? Which album did you listen to as first?

I heard somewhere that Brandon played bass in a song. . . ? Which song is that?

Some news:

Video: Brandon Flowers Talks About His Love For Las Vegas

It could be any day now that we will hear the first single from The Killers' Brandon Flowers that is taken from his forthcoming solo album, titled "Flamingo." In the meantime, watch a recent television interview with the singer that is taken from a BBC documentary about the history and lure of Las Vegas.

Flowers talks passionately about growing up in the city - from working as a bell boy in one of the city's mega hotels to seeing Elvis photos everywhere to his fascination with Liberace's jackets. The video also includes some footage of Flowers working in the recording studio.

Las Vegas is the main inspiration for the singer's upcoming solo effort, and the way he talks about his beloved hometown in this interview may point to the sonic intensity and overall grand soundscape of the Stuart Priced produced album. In fact, it is rumored that a song called "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas" will be front and center on "Flamingo." Stay tuned. More very soon.

You can watch both parts of the interview after the jump.

More news. Sorry for all the Mark-ish copying and pasting :P

Brandon Flowers to tour UK as solo artist

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed he will be touring the UK with his solo album Flamingo later this year. The US rocker told how he will be heading to the UK later this year with the album, and his backing band will be made up of his friends and former touring partners. He said to UK radio station Xfm: 'Yes, we'll definitely be over this year. 'I think it's going to be very meat-and-potatoes at first. We're going to learn the songs and then how to present them. 'A Killers song will creep in every now and then. It's inevitable.' Talking about his backing band, he said: 'It's a collection of guys that The Killers know. They're our friends that we've acquired over the years.'

I wish he would tour the states first. Oh well, as long as he's coming near here.
