From a critical perspective, I must say there is 1 thing that bothers me while listening to this song.

The way Chris is singing those words in the choruses reminds me so much of the Higher Power choruses, they've got almost the same timing... I mean, everytime I sing FLiFiL in my head, I end up singing Higher Power  

 

I like the FLIFIL verses more than the Higher Power ones! The vocals are softer, better and feel less rushed, I don't know how to explain it.

Overall I'm positively surprised by how the song turned out, given that I was skeptical about the teaser snippet at first. I already like it, and I feel it's the kind of song that will only grow on me the more I hear it. I also can't wait to hear it live! The only thing I feel could be better are the lyrics, Chris showed on EL and Coloratura that he can (still) do much better than this! And I wish Jonny had a solo

I quite like it when Will hits enters with the snare later, because it's a bit different. It gives FLiFiL a better build-up (?) towards the last chorus/ending part I think!

It's just a choice they made and I think it's a great choice.

Same here, the verses are definitely better imo! The way he sings there reminds me of earlier days (A Rush Of Blood or so?)

Too bad there isn't a solo or at least a guitar break. Perhaps Jonny did have more for this song but with FliFiL being the first single they left it out  

How epic would it be if Coldplay decide to perform this song with an orchestra. A big orchestra behind the band. Just like the Grammys performance back in 2003.

The strings sound (now sometimes background) will elevate FLiFiL without a doubt, really hoping something like this will happen!

I bet on the album there will be a lot of moments for Jonny to Shine, for now Im just happy that this single is happening in the middle of a pop era, this is better than a lot ot things coldplay did since viva for me, its better than a lot of singles of mylo for me, is less cheesy, it has more emotion on it, even tho the song is like more chill..its Just make more sense with that band that did viva.

I just noticed that coldplay accidentally released Feelslikeimfallinginlove as an album not a single on apple music.

Same here, I absolutely agree. Much more emotion, much more ''chill Coldplay'', and less poppy I guess. 

It grows on me a lot and I like it so much more than their latest singles, which is quite promising as a first single!

First time posting since 2021! Nice to be back. This song has a very nice, subdued style to it that I really appreciate. It reminds me a lot of my immediate reaction to Orphans back in 2019. I don't really get the perception this is meant to be a major hit; rather, a somewhat radio-friendly hit that I'm sure will have deeper meaning on the album itself.

It's also reminiscent of Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories. That outro is something I haven't heard Coldplay do in ages; it's a nice touch. Based on the few clips of soundchecks I've heard lately, and how surprised I am hearing this song, I think Moon Music will be a solid album that feels more 'true' to the band.

Interesting, for me is more viva than mylo, but Im happy people are connecting with it ^^, its been a while since I was this hopeful with a coldplay album

Exactly, I think this album will be what they should've done after viva

If I had to sum up my thoughts and feelings its like:

I think the band with this single finally found the right ballance on sounding pop in a organic way, they've been trying since ahfod even mylo, but I think they finally nailed it now, the production is rich, a lot of nice elements in the background. The song just feels organic in a way they sounded from the beggining to Viva. It feels like a more natural continuation if they wanted to sound more pop after Viva, so I couldn't be more happy, it feels sweet, natural and not forced at all, they are not trying to sound like some genre, they are just being themselves wearing pop vibes with it. Beautiful start, excited to where this album will bring us, and based on the soundchecks this could be one of their best albums, or at least top 5, like a very rich experience.

I'm still cautiously optimistc after this first single. I'm not a huge fan of the production and mixing again and I'm worried that the Max Martin-ism's of MOTS  are going to continue based on this track. BUT -- there's clearly some intention on FLIFL of more intstrumention, a mellow vibe. I think there's going to be a lot of good stuff in store and the sounds of We Pray so far sound amazing, so I think it could overall be an improvement on the last album for me but I'm having a very "meh" reaction to FLIFL right now. 

Haven't posted here in a long time. It's good to see some positive reactions to the song. It's neither good or bad for me. Quite forgettable. Immediately after I listened to the song for the first time, Spotify played strawberry swing. What an unfortunate and stark comparison.

Was pleasantly surprise by this single. From the snippet/chorus we’ve had, I didn’t think much of it. Wasn’t expecting the song to be softer, calmer. 
 

The ending was odd though. Surely it’s some sort of musical interlude to the next song on the album. 

flifil is soo underwhelming, and I'm the biggest MX fan. I just don't know when this band will ever satisfy me anymore ever since Coloratura. I just hope the 2nd single will be good, because it's usually the best song in the album.

First of all, I am so happy to see so many people - even some of the so called old players haha - excited with FLIFIL. Me as a fan of MX and juxtaposed eras, I feel sad that the song didn't grew on me the same way.

I love the guitar of Johnny at the end, I wanted it to be more present.

I don't see why angelica/weirdos voices are needed in this song. Will's voice is so much richer and impactful when it enters.

The orchestra that we can hear in the outro is delicious, I wish that there was more of it or thst it felt more present.

I love the build up from the verses to the chorus.

When it goes "I know....la la la..." It really makes me feel when I - as a songwriter myself - can't yet find lyrics for a verse. It's funny tho but it really feels like there's something missing there.

Last but not least I really don't feel the connection with ghost stories here. Maybe for the lo fi- ish start but can't see in the rest of the song. I felt that "All my love" had more that taste as many of us mentioned. 

Overall it has some great moments but for me it doesn't catch my attention that much. hope this changes. Also, I was thinking that the start of the song is hard to sing live specially if the instrumental is not that audible like what happened the first time they played it live, hope they enhance it in the next ones. 

Very excited as always for what is still to come. Of course, the speech of this album being similar to VLV era it makes me even more excited. The artworks also remind me a lot of MX so I am in a way on a hopeful transmition (pun intended) 😛

This was a strange choice for a lead single, i don't think it will do well commercially. Maybe they should have released Good Feelings as a lead single?

I can´t see why it wouldn´t work, it has the easiest chorus they have ever done, everything in the song is directed to be heard without any effort (and without any emotion neither, in my opinion). I think it will work on the radio and in the stadiums as well, but it´s not the kind of song I would like to hear.
