August 6, 2025Aug 6 And we still got this amazing song, sounding a bit ballady, with Jonny playing beautiful melodies in between Chris's lines. From a soundcheck in Seoul back in April https://x.com/Tugi_In_Town/status/1912425849217036780 Hopefully, it will be on their next record. Edited August 6, 2025Aug 6 by Gideon_Mx

August 28, 2025Aug 28 Ok so we have a solid theory finally. The latest tour news is that there is a rumour that 11 shows are being played in Madrid in 2027 following the upcoming tour break. Coldplay are in the middle of their 10 shows at Wembley where they are playing songs from an album per night that don’t normally get played. So why 11 at Madrid and not 10 like Wembley? It’s a very strange number to do, UNLESS they intend to repeat the album per night idea with the last night being LP11 themed. That means LP11 must arrive by early-mid 2027 for this to happen. It will also mean the MOTS tour can successfully be done during the release of the entire MOTS trilogy.
September 6, 2025Sep 6 I like this. At this point it feels like MOTS 3 should just be a straight up surprise drop and even if that's an EP containing all the b-sides since 2020 I'd be happy with that. But I don't know what to think anymore given the rumored musical.

The rumours in Spain say that it´s 11 shows because Bad Bunny is playing 10 shows at that venue, so they can break that record. It doesn’t make any sense to think they are interested in doing that in a country like mine, and I hope the real idea is what you ´ re proposing.
September 25, 2025Sep 25 I have seen some people say the album is confirmed to have the word "stars" in the title while I have seen others ay the album is confirmed to have "home" in the title. Are either of these true? If so, does anyone have the source for this cause I'd be interested to see what else was said.

The theory is each act represents a different album. Planets is MOTS, and Moons is obviously Moon Music. Therefore vol 3 will be related to Stars somehow, and the self-titled will be a return home. This is contradicted by Chris telling a fan vol 3 will have the word Home in the title. This was back in 2022 I think. Edited September 25, 2025Sep 25 by Famous Old Painter

September 29, 2025Sep 29 It's anyones guess at this point. They often are changing plans based on tours and if they change their minds. I think there are a few possibilities: "Stars" will be the subtitle of the MOTS Live Album. "Stars" will be in the title of an EP of B-sides since 2020 and be considered Volume 3. "Stars" will be in the next album, which will be the musical and somehow still wrapped into the MOTS theme.

September 30, 2025Sep 30 Plans are probably a lot more flexible than Chris makes out. He might have originally intended MOTS3 to be called Home but maybe it's Stars now. Remember FFTF2024? I promise you that wasn't intended to be a bunch of Moon Music music videos when they first revealed it. But whatever it was meant to be didn't materialise, so they threw together a Moon Music film instead. Around that time he also said there would be an album a year until 2024 when they wrap it all up. Well it's near the end of 2025 now and we're still waiting on two albums. Edited September 30, 2025Sep 30 by Famous Old Painter
September 30, 2025Sep 30 Whilst I'm on this tangent, why the hell did Chris perform Shine On in the middle of Vegas if they weren't going to release it? This band man.

October 8, 2025Oct 8 This was being discussed on Reddit but I figured I'd bring it up here too as the users here a little more in the know What's the fate of the songs which make up the Rainbow? People were saying here they would definitely see a release eventually. There was speculation they'd be used on an EP, but it's been a year since MM and I doubt there's more from that era coming. Chris did say to Zane Lowe that Rainbow was a preview of the next thing they were doing, which I guess is the musical. So will the Rainbow songs all be a part of the musical? That could be the case, but the fact the full Angelsong has already been released makes me doubt it'll be reused. Man in the Moon and The Karate Kid aren't getting re-released either. There's also Shine On, which shares a bit in common with the new songs they've been soundchecking. So will all this be a part of the musical? Or has the entire bunch has been Car Kids'd? Knowing Coldplay I'm guessing the latter. Edited October 8, 2025Oct 8 by Famous Old Painter
October 8, 2025Oct 8 I just remembered Weirdo was set to be a part of the musical too. I have mixed feelings on this, the Everyday Life version is one of the best things they've done this decade imho, but I don't know if a Max Martin produced version could improve on it. During the MOTS era I was certain they'd ruin it, but a bunch of Moon Music was tastefully done so maybe it'll be ok. There's also Earthling; correct me if I'm wrong but that was never confirmed to be a part of the musical was it? It's entirely possible that's just been scrapped. It would be a shame though.

I assume you've heard the MOTS era version of Weirdo? They completely ruined it.
October 8, 2025Oct 8 I'm happily pretending it doesn't exist Honestly I think they should just take the EL version of Weirdo, give the stems to the MOTS3 mixing team so it sounds consistent with the other tracks, and just release it that way.
October 8, 2025Oct 8 I just hope they release self-titled in 2026-2027, that is all I care about though I do not have high hopes for it either, just need 2-3 songs sounding like peak Oldplay and it will be a succes for me.
