Coldplay To Perform "Viva La Vida" @MTV Movie Awards
yep I wanted to see them perform violet hill too. I had the idea of the 4 of them going strong with it. But vlv, seems to be mostly orchestra (which is prob why they chose to perform it), or just maybe, they'll rearrange the song so that only the 4 of them will b on stage (which would be interesting)... but I doubt it

"42" Comparisons
well, i wish I didnt had that impression from the new album so far, really. but listening to viva la vida, a spell.. and lost (the full version from the interview), it seems that the 2 things that really stand out are eno and chris.. I miss will's real drums, I miss guy's incredible melodic bass lines, and I seriously intensely miss jonny's guitar melodies and power.. in my opinion they really stepped away from sounding like a band so far, which is what i dont get when they talk about just the 4 of them in their bakery and stuff..

"42" Comparisons
i dont know, my expectations for all of the songs in this album were very high!. but after hearing the couple songs everyone's heard already, it's just not the direction i thought they were taking. When i thought of 42, i id think something radiohead-like.. but judging on the sound of all the new songs i've heard so far, it prob wont b anything like that :S radiohead is and has been in a complete other level than coldplay, if they say experimental, they really go experimental.. not like what ive heard of viva, experimental meant, very pop and a one man band sound-like, except for violet hill.. i mean i still like it, but it really is something completely off to what i had in mind after reading such things like "album to be rememberd by" "experimentalism"..

You can hear Lost! in this video...
i dont see the similarity but thats a great song.. thats the time when i thought music has sounded its best (to me) its deff again not what i expected in the full version of the song. the piano version made me think "phew a song that catches me from the start! cant wait to hear jonnys guitar on it" but its full of organs, and it sounds african even tho its not the one they said would sound african.. idk.. hope the new songs i still to hear really grow on me..

You can hear Lost! in this video...
so i guess now they are never changing their clothes? lol

Violet Hill FULL VIDEO!
yeah i got no clue what the video is about haha. i like bit where they are all around guy in the piano.. and when i saw chris coming towards the camera with a hammer i really thought something very interesting would happen, but they just completely randomly change to the magnifying glass thing :S

What's your most anticipated VLVODAIF song?
its hard to choose.. but here 1. 42 (cause they say its the most radiohead-like one) 2. yes! (cause ive dreamed about this song, wonder how close the one i heard in my dream was to the real one) 3. cemeteries of london (2nd song in album, and the artwork looks interesting, and it has hand claps)

Any song writers out there?
i have found that songs come easier to me once I have an idea in my head of what I wanna achieve with the song. I also always like finding one phrase that will lead me into other good ones, a phrase that sparks a lot of thoughts in my head, lot of things to say and sometimes even how I wanna sing them: full of pain, slowly, fast, etc... then I also try to grasp on what to do with the whole thing: strong in the beginning, quiet beginning, buildup, monotone, some unexpected change in the bridge... things like that. then when I sit and try to write the song it feels as if i sort of already have heard it before, or as if I already had written it a while ago and now I just have to remember about it. but I am really sure there's no real structure to these things, there prob is one that will feel really easy and comfortable to you tho. and even then, it doesnt always just work.

The Problem with Viva la Vida
i remember tho, I really really loved square one as soon as i heard it, it was a good strange for coldplay! actually i thought they'd go in a similar direction to square one with these new songs.. unexpected changes, guitar noises, cool drum loops, incredible bass lines, intriguing melodies... but eh

"Viva La Vida" video posted on YouTube
!!!!! HA! the first thing my mom said when she heard the song was "is this a ripoff of alizee's song?" and i was like "what song?".. and then i saw the video. and yea very similar. I might even like hers a bit more. i mean after all she really is a pop star, not a band sounding like a pop star.

The Problem with Viva la Vida
I understand where everyone is coming from.. I gotta get it out of my chest too.. they kept saying that this is the album they'd be remembered by. that they tried things they hadnt tried before and all. I was really looking forward to it, thinking wow, these guys must have cooked something impressive this time, pushing their sound even further. I thought they come up with something really new. be pioneers in the alt pop rock sound. but after listening to these 3 tracks, it sounds like they just tried something that was new to them (selling out), but not new to the world. viva la vida sounds like a chris eno song, i hear no jonny, no guy, and very little will. it sounds like it seriously was just chris martins project with some backing musicians. the song isnt bad, but it sounds more like a one republic song rather than a coldplay song. dont hate me, I'm still exited about tons of new music of theirs, but i really hope there's something like what i was expecting on the album.
