Was listening to it again today (Finally after two days of abstinence, I could listen to AHFOD again!) and I absolutely love the "exotic" drums just before the chorus :) Also a loop of Jonny lick in this song could be put on repeat and fit perfectly in a "relaxation" CD hehe :) So serene.

I would not say GS was bashed as far as I can remember, MX had mixed reviews, all above 60 actually. (I still cant believe X&Y got as high as 72, same as Viva! I mean I loved it when it came out, but I am a fan only interested in how the music sounds. X&Y , unlike Viva, is undeniably too long and bloated, I would have expected critics to pick up on that) I am pleasantly surprised about the NY Times review though: I so did not expect that! :)

You know I was about to but the plot sounded downright miserable *lol* I mean I can see how it can be a great novel, realist and all and im sure its beautifully written, but I was just not in the mood for that kind of stuff, so I left it there. Still I thought it was cool to see it :)

Hmmm off the top of my head Underrated: Proof, How you see the world, Miracles, Midnight Overrated: Hmmm to me Yellow (but that cud be because its getting so old by now hehe), God put a smile (I actually never liked it really but I know many love it), Viva

Just wanted to mention in case people did not know that another reason to get the vinyl of AHFOD (if you should need more reasons)is that it comes with a full pretty poster (back of the lyric sheet) :)

Today I saw "The grapes of wrath" at the local library for 50c. Made me think about Chris and how he recommended it :)

That made me laugh haha I dont know what would result in more critical acclaim, but ultimately I´d rather have songs I like than songs critics like. I dont like 80% of what critics recommend, so there it is :)

It looks like MX and GS are quite close in sale number, while Viva was a lot more, so I would say its the result of the decline in music sales. The low sales of AHFOD I think must weighed in the light of Adele...she is obliterating any other artist on the shelves right now :/ I´d still wait to see the Superbowl effect and also the sales around Christmas and after they start releasing more singles. MX was a slow burner too.

I just read the review now. Quite a contrast to the previous review they did back then I think the famous one was the X&Y one? Lovely to see the album is liked. Our big local music magazine in denmark also gave the album 4 out of 6 stars (same rating they gave to Adele btw).

There is quite a lot of danish music I love, but I´ll start with sharing a classic...our very own "Coldplay"-like band (early Coldplay hehe): Saybia - The Second you sleep (live)

I am absolutely obsessed with "Good for you". And yes I turned up my nose because what? Selena? Cant be a good song, no way *lol* But it is...very much so

Sadly I´ve not been able to participate this year, but continued thumbs up for this great Coldplayers tradition and early merry christmas to all of you :)

I kinda did too when GS first came out, I thought/hoped for more Midnight tracks, but when I heard the new songs live I was very happy they released those as well! As much as I say "oh I ´d love a WHOLE album like this!" I am not sure I would ultimately prefer it to the mixed genre albums they have released so far. But yeah Midnight, Chinese and X and the experimental stuff I love because i can tell they can do it without losing their melodies in the process (which is the risk when u do experimental stuff)

They sorta did. It´s sweet but no way I prefer it to the original. I ´d miss that thumping drum and bass hehe :)
