West Dunbartonshire Council is in discussions with promoters about bringing the world-famous band — to Balloch Park on July 2 and 3 next year. Talks are understood to be at an advanced stage — but the plans could be scuppered by the police. Forces from across Scotland will provide security at the G8 summit at Gleneagles on Jul…

I just played AROBTTH in my computer long time ago and then, I remember it very well, when I posed the pointer to play every song it said that the composer was Guy Berryman so were really all the songs in that album composed by him? Just wondering I made the saem with Parachutes and saw all the songs were composed by Chris Martin except Trouble So ¿?

Gwyn's Apple prefers U2 to 'Coldplay' music!: [Hollywood News]: Washington, Dec 17 : Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her singer husband Chris Martin's baby daughter Apple prefers Irish rockers U2's songs to her 'Coldplay' father's music. Martin, however, is very happy with Apple's taste in music, as he was the one who had introduced her to Bono's singing before Apple was born in May 2004. "U2's The Unforgettable Fire is one of the first songs I played to my unborn baby," ratethemusic quoted Martin as saying. Martin further said that the 'Shakespeare In Love' star and he are big fans of Bono's charity work as well as his music. "While everyone else is swearin…

Capitol Eyes March British Invasion Capitol Records' release schedule will have a British flair in March, when the label will issue highly anticipated, as-yet-untitled new albums from Coldplay and Doves, Billboard.com has learned. Doves' set will arrive March 1; the Coldplay album does not have a definitive street date. Produced by Ken Nelson, who was behind the boards for the band's two prior studio sets, the Coldplay album was recorded in London and New York. It's the follow-up to 2002's "A Rush of Blood to the Head," which peaked at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 3.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Frontman …

FROM NME.COM CHRIS MARTIN STICKS UP FOR BAND AID 20 COLDPLAY’s CHRIS MARTIN has defended the BAND AID 20 single, saying that people should buy it regardless of whether they like it or not. ’Do They Know It’s Christmas?’, which hit the number one spot in the UK singles chart for the second week last night (December 12), has attracted some criticism over it’s allegedly ‘patronising’ and ‘inaccurate’ lyrics. Martin said: "What, of the words? I’ve encountered a lot of cynicism about this Band Aid thing and I think it’s kind of nonsense because to me it’s not about the song or about the words, it is about the images you sometimes see in the videos. But to me it w…

Coldplay has received an apology from former Creation Records boss Alan McGee, who once branded the band "music for bedwetters". McGee, who has signed legends including Oasis and Primal Scream, admits he misjudged the popular mood when he voiced his comments. He said, "It was an off-the-cuff, bizarre Northern (English) remark really. I don't get off on their music, but eight million people do, so good luck to them."

Initially posted in Live, but this seems to be where, ahem, the hep cats post news these days... :) From today's Sun newspaper in the UK: Quick phone calls to contacts at other universities and so forth suggest Glasgow University, Liverpool University, then a final date at ULU on the weekend surrounding the album's release, similar to the Kentish Town Forum album launch gig in August 2002. I really daren't think how rare these tickets will be.
