I know that it hasn't happened yet, but could someone please upload these files as soon as possible after Saturday? I am going because I won tickets, but I am unable to record it. I want to be able to relive the experience, especially Bittersweet Symphony with Richard Ashcroft. Thanks a lot! :D

This is a random thought that just popped into my head. Has pop music, over the last 50 years or so, just about covered every universal message that there is? From Nina Simone's "Feelin Good" to The Beatles "All You Need is Love", gigantic pop songs with quite clear messages just dont exist anymore. In my opinion the last universal pop song that was loved by everyone and had tremendous staying power on radio and TV, was Outkast's "Hey Ya". And well, I mean, the chorus was, hey ya... hey, ya... A brilliant, and original song. But it just feels like big themes and messages cant really exist anymore as far as huge songs go that everyone loves. Such songs go under…

So, as you may have heard from my constant and annoying tendency to keep mentioning it… I went to Glastonbury. This is my full account of how amazing the weekend was…. I will try and keep it relatively short as I could seem like I am boasting or just make people jealous if I ramble on and on. Thursday At 9.00 I had my last A-level exam. It went a bit shit actually, I thought it would be easy as it was only General studies, oh well, we then had a very long train journey. We got there and after much deliberation pitched our tent quite near the other stage, about half way up the hill. Went and looked round the site as the sun was setting, it was so hot, and the site …

  10. We all know Coldplay make great songs which have definite emotive qualities. However, I don't think anyone could describe them as particularly uplifting. David Gray's "Babylon" is one tune that definitely is, and here is a list of other "singalong" songs which fall in the same category: 1. Fool's Garden - Lemon Tree 2. The Colourfield - Thinking Of You 3. Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now 4. UB40 - Kingston Town 5. Men At Work - Down Under 6. Abba - Take A Chance On Me 7. Erasure - Victim of Love 8. Madonna - Cherish 9. Janet Jackson - Whoops Now! 10. Diana Ross - Chain Reaction 11. The Four Tops - Loco In Acapulco 12. Mental As Anything - Live It Up 13…

  11. Spin Magazine Picks Radiohead CD As Best By JAKE COYLE Associated Press Writer NEW YORK -- Spin magazine named Radiohead's "OK Computer" the top album of the past 20 years, praising a futuristic sound that manages to feel alive "even when its words are spoken by a robot." The British band's album edged out Public Enemy's "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" and Nirvana's "Nevermind" on a list in Spin's 20th anniversary issue, currently on newsstands. "Between Thom Yorke's orange-alert worldview and the band's meld of epic guitar rock and electronic glitch, (`OK Computer') not only forecast a decade of music but uncannily predicted our global…

  12. A mother whose teenage daughter was caught illegally downloading thousands of music files to her computer is being sued after the family were targeted by lawyers acting for the music industry body, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Sylvia Price, 53, was incredulous when she got a letter from a law firm acting for the BPI demanding she pay a £2,500 settlement fee or face court proceedings. She says she had no idea her daughter, Emily, 14, had been downloading music, her confusion compounded by the fact that she is unfamiliar with computers. But the BPI maintain that, as the holder of the internet account, she is legally liable to pay the settlement. As part of…

  20. Ian McCulloch (Echo & The Bunnymen) has invited Chris Martin to join his band onstage at Glastonbury next weekend. Coldplay are massive fans of Echo And The Bunnymen, and have covered their song ’Lips Like Sugar’ over the years. Speaking to 6 Music, McCulloch said he’d like to meet up with his old friends at Glastonbury, where both bands are playing on Saturday (June 25). He said: "You never know, Chris (Martin) might say 'Macca will you play ’Lips Like Sugar’ with us?' Or he might say: 'Macca can I sing ’Nothing Lasts Forever’?' Whatever, he's more than welcome, and I'll make myself more that welcome if I'm invited to sing ’Lips Like Sugar’ with Coldplay." […
