...that isn't Coldplay, believe it or not...

  1. So, i finally saw their set...i can breathe now. Their performance proved why i love them. It's so obvious that they have so much respect for Richard Ashcroft...they played Bittersweet Symphony as if it were their own. they loved playing that song and sharing the stage with Richard. Did anyone notice how Guy was singing along and playing so passionately? Usually, when a band gets huge, they feel that no other band is like them. They get too cocky, but not with coldplay. at least, not yet and hopefully never.

(with Coldplay due to appear in 25 minutes)

  16. Yeah, so I was hanging out at a friend's place in North Philly, and she drove me back to my place (because I was feeling too lazy for public transit) and we went by the place where Live 8 is being held and there's already several hundred people out in front of the art museum for the show. The road that goes in front of it isn't closed off yet so we actually drove within about 30 feet of the stage, which is probably as close as we're going to get. Anyway... people are nuts because it's still two days away (ok... one and a half). And who's worth wasting three days to see up close in our lineup?

Twenty years after rocker-turned-aid impresario Bob Geldof ushered in an age of pop star social activism, no band embodies the renewed spirit of playing music for a cause better than rock sensation Coldplay. The top-of-the-charts British band will headline the Live8 concert organised by Geldof in London Saturday, the flagship event of an eight-city musical extravaganza designed to pressure world leaders meeting in Scotland next week to eradicate poverty in Africa. The concert is being billed as the biggest musical event in history, and is expected to draw a worldwide live audience of up to a million, with hundreds of millions more watching and listening via televisi…

  24. Coldplay are planning a duet with Richard Ashcroft at Live 8, it has been reported. The ex-The Verve singer has recently supported Coldplay on a handful of dates on their European tour, and the two have come up with the idea of performing The Verve’s 1997 classic 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' together, according to The Sun newspaper. Coldplay are set to perform at the London Hyde Park date of Live 8 this Saturday (July 2). http://www.coldplaying.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=716
