I just bought their cd and they are really good. Anyone else ever heard of them? I thought they were a REM tributes band or something but hey they have their own style which is cool.

I find it hard to define the difference between rock,british rock,pop/rock and alternative,so I'll name a bunch of people and you tell me what genre they fit in,because people ask me what kind of music do you listen to and I don't know what to call it,it's always a singer/songwriter/guitar/piano,anyways people like John Mayer,Coldplay,Alanis Morrissette,Sarah Maclachlan,Fiona Apple,Rufus Wainwright,Travis,etc,you get the idea I guess,they don't all sound alike but I just can't fit them in a certain category,you know rock,pop,folk. Excuse the level of ignorance here,but I figured I'd ask instead of being dumb about it.

Does anybody knows where can I download Coldplay's performance at live 8?

hey there people. i have got 16//17 tracks of the glasto gig, and it comes to 81 minutes! anyone got any ideas of how to get it down to 1 cd instead of having 2 cds? cheers.

so i'm sitting in the car with my friend and i'm in the front seat playing coldplay. so during a message i think it was, she says that because on the strings when he switches chords, and it squeaks it means that he's not holding the guitar properly. and that he's not a good guitar player if he plays like that. so i'm wondering if the sqeaking on the strings has anything to do with it? :/ she said that her sister plays guitar and used to squeak, then she learned how to hold the guitar properly and it stopped...

well, g'head! :D :D :D (I'm all for great intuitive live music...but good lord please spare me a 20 minute guitar solo. If you have to be a stoner (thus, stoned) to enjoy a type of music, that cannot be the best music availible haha)

Probably the best gig in my life. It really left an effect on me and made me think, Bob really has my attention now. Every single performer was excellent (okay maybe thats exaggerating a bit, I didnt like Dido live) and im so glad i went. Yay :)

okay I forgot to post this but yeah I recorded live 8 on VH1 and coldplay din't come out like sining live only when they snap their finger could you guys help me with that or if they are coming out agian with coldplay please :smug:

i know this is way out there, but are any of you joan baez fans? i've been a big fan of hers for about a year now and she's actually kind of how i got into coldplay. after learning about her life and reading both of her books i can really no longer get into musicians without "causes." i know that sounds kind of weird (or maybe close-minded), but it just makes me sick to see big acts talk about nothing but partying and how they spend their money on useless crap, i prefer ones with consciences. so once i saw that coldplay's been pushing fair trade for a few years now and really care about it, i began to be really attracted to their music and now i just can't go a day wit…

Anyone have the MP3 from live 8?

The extreme difference between the quality of live performances before the 80's... I mean, new bands like Maroon 5 or Coldplay sounded pretty good, y'know, it was of very good quality of new bands. Or you look at Motley Crue, who sounded dirt awful today. But then you look at Pink Floyds note perfect performance (Apart from Wish You Were Here which was still excellent) as well as The Who, who also could've been in the recording studio for their performance, which was excellent. Seriously now, the only thing seperating the sound quality of these performances from the produced albums they appeared on, was the sound of the crowd in the background. The same rule applies…

Apparently there is going to be a show July 2nd.. not yet announced where (what venue) and not yet announced who will be attending. We are supposed to hear on Tuesday. The Rolling Stones were said to be there at first, but now we hear that they have scheduling conflicts. Discuss....
