It's a shame how now box office winnings go into if the movie wins more than substance within the film

It got beat at the Baftas by The Hurt Locker.

It's not as if I didn't enjoy Avatar... it was entertaining to watch, but it's not a movie I would put up for best picture or buy on dvd/watch again.

The Hurt Locker better beat Avatar at the Oscars. :dozey:

What aspect of the film and overall story did you not like? The only real argument I can ever seem to get from anyone is the fact that it was predictable. What other things did you not like?

I didn't see The Hurt Locker yet, but Inglorious Basterds was SO COOL!!! OMG!! I want "Inglorious Basterds", "Up" or "Up in the air" to win, if "Avatar" wins I going to freak out!! lol

The Hurt Locker was great. :lol: I loved it and I highly recommend it.

I did like Avatar (please don't get on me) but I don't think it should win best picture.

 

Unlike everyone else in the world, District 9 was my favorite movie of the year. I know it won't win, but it was just spectacular.

 

I want Inglorious Basterds to win, though, knowing they'd never give it to D9.

Yeah D9 was great so is Avatar never watched IB or HL yet
