As good of an idea this is, I'd much rather prefer going to the store and buying the album.

As far as marketing strategy goes it's a brilliant idea. But poorly executed imo.

 

But this is world of music, and musically this album more than makes up for the trainwrecks that were Off With Their Heads and Yours Truly Angry Mob. Holy fuck.... after all these years I'm finally a Kaiser Chiefs fan again! It's like I've gone in a time machine or something.

I've now decided it's about half and half quality wise, which works out perfectly given they're asking you to pick 10 anyway.

i really hope they are able to get 2 or 3 big singles out of this "compilation" otherwise their live show will really struggle.

 

you will end up having half the crowd being familiar with one set of songs and not the rest and the other half knowing another set but not the one the rest now.......or whatever.....you know what i mean. that will have a really negative impact on the atmosphere at their shows.

WOW..... after listening to the songs I am really disappointed. Nowhere near as good as their past material. This even makes their third album look amazing. Its a shame really, the only good song is Little Shocks then it sounds like they made 19 B-Sides

i keep getting to track 14 or 15 and stopping. the music leaves no impact on you whatsoever. the first half a dozen tracks sound pretty decent but nothing special.

I think I am going to build my own 10 track album to at least make some sense of flow

They probably don't know how they wanted the album to sound either.

There are some really good songs on there, and there are some not so good ones.

 

I personally believe that Yours Truly, Angry Mob is a top notch album, I like all the songs on it!!

personally i don't have an issue with any of their first 3 albums. the first 2 produced a ton of great indie anthems and the 3rd had a couple of decent song in there too.

I just heard "Little Shocks" for the first time.

Still getting through my first listen... yeah, 20 songs is way too long and there's just not enough there to keep you interested. I still quite like Little Shocks, and Heard it Break just annoys the hell out of me. The rest are ok though.

if only the new songs (aside from Little Shocks) are as good as their innovative marketing idea...am admittedly disappointed. tho i'm seeing them play at the Electric Ballroom in about a week's time. i'm now hoping they don't play too many of the new songs... :\

apparently they will be releasing a 14 track physical cd in july some time.
