Hm...How about some news we've all probably heard about...Anybody know anything about those "body parts in the mail" cases? :S

 

I live in Quebec, which is why they talk a lot of that in the news here. The SPVM (Montreal police) still try to find the head of the victim. It's terrible. :( Its make me sick.

It's actually got national and international news coverage since he was arrested in Germany. I wasn't aware they hadn't found the head yet. Just monstrous!

The case became international since the SPVM know that he left Montreal to Paris. They immediately avert Interpol. The SPVM said that maybe the head is somewhere in the mail or in a dump. It's just horrible. I can't watch news anymore because they give a lot of details.

Yeah :S Wasn't there also some rumoured case of body parts also being sent to some places in Vancouver?

Yes. It was the hand and the foot of the victim. The other hand and foot was send to the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party few days ago.

I'm guessing the head is in the mail if he sent both hands and feet. It would be symbolic to this psycho. Or he may have even kept it as a reminder. People like this don't operate under the same reality' as most of us'. If I hadn't chosen music, I'd have chosen criminal psychology It used to fascinate me, but now it just horrifies me. Part of why I love Coldplay so much is their innocence and optimism. You can almost forget people like this exist...almost...

The case started when someone found the torso of the victim in a in a traveling bag near the garbage. So, it's possible that the head is somewhere in a dump. In the news, they said the murderer killed his victim and decapited him. And the worst, he filmed himself during he doing that and post it in the internet. The SPVM said that the video is during 2 hours. The Head of Inquiry, which was forced to see the video, said it was the worst thing that he see since the beginning of his career. It's just terrible. The murderer did it just to have the world's attention. In Berlin, when he was arrested, he was watching what the world said about him.

The mark of a narcissistic personality, not to mention a sociopath. I know the video is still up online, and I have a friend who has seen it. No thanks! I'm not going to sicken myself while giving Magnata the attention he craves. Evil doesn't deserve an audience.

And man, I hope there's some way he can get the death penalty...I know it's banned in Canada but if there is any way that we can somehow get rid of him, then I'll take it. And really? This was all just for attention? And I thought the victim was female, like his fiancee or spouse or something, or was that just a hypothesis proven false?

Not just for attention, but to fulfill his sick fantasies. The victim was a male, a porn actor, and supposedly Magnata's lover.

 

I'm glad we don't have the death penalty here, but having said that, if I was to hear that he dies 'mysteriously' in prison, I wouldn't shed a tear.;)

I'd heard he was a student, but also that Magnatta had him 'act' in one of his movies.

Have you heard that Magnatta dated Karla Homolka while she was incarcerated? Figures...I can't believe she's now married with 3 kids :(

I hadn't heard that! I wonder if that was the same time he changed his name. Someone like her can really twist a guy...especially one so obviously damaged as him.

I knew that he meet Homolka, but not dating her. Anyway, he was already a bit crazy when he was younger. He filmed himself when he was killing cats.

 

Today, on the news, they said that he is probably the author of another murder.

Clearly huts before meeting her. But for a wannabe serial killer, people like her can be the catalyst to make them step over the edge. And I said last week that this can't be his only murder. Doesn't fit the profile...literally.

Not likely since he once wrote a how-to about excaping the country. That shows presence of mind that the Crown should be able to use to get a fitting conviction. Also, he recorded the musder. Depending on what he says on the video, if he shows he knows right from wrong, he (hopefully) won't have an insanity defense.
