The Doctor
I really liked it, bit weird to see Jenna already. Maybe she'll turn out to be a sibling of the new companion or maybe she IS the new companion who's a bit trapped in time :blank:

zzz
^ Still wondering about that. But the new companion isn't called Oswin, so unless she has a name change somewhere, it doesn't make sense.
Hysteria
That was the rumor but I dont think that's confirmed yet Ah, didn't know it hasn't been confirmed yet. Everywhere I've read has said her name's Clara so I went along with it. Also, anyone seen the prequel to Asylum of the Daleks? :awesome: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1r2dQkB1fY]Doctor Who--Prequel: Asylum of the Daleks - YouTube[/ame]
Mark
There are two alternatives for the new companion: 1. It's a River Song thing: the Doctor sees her die the first time her, and then he meets her again earlier in her timeline. 2. It's a Martha Jones thing: the character is a relative of the new companion. (The new companion by the way is rumoured to be Clara Oswin, from the Victorian times. It is also rumoured that she dies in the Christmas episode...) Now, I'm gonna say that it's not a relative. Reasons for this? 1. Her last words were "remember me." Not, "remember my great-great-great-great-grandmother". "Me". Sounds silly... but I just have a feeling. 2. That's a very Russell T Davies thing to do, relatives. He did it with Martha, and he did it with Eve in Torchwood. He was very into families; The Doctor's Daughter was an episode under his headwritership, and Rose's family were well-explored, via parallel worlds, etc. Steven Moffat? He's more timey-wimey. He likes a good timeline. 3. Every companion thus far in the revival - minus Jack, who wasn't really full-time - has been a girl plucked from 21st Century Earth. Neither Oswin or Clara are that. Something doesn't add up for me. I think that the theme for the second half of the series will be that the Doctor has to save her from being imprisoned in the Dalek. And when he stops that from happening - which has to happen - then the Daleks will regain memory of him.

Mark
I agree with your theory of what's going to happen this series  I don't think I've quite got it all. It could be for example, that Clara/Oswin has been cloned/replicated throughout time to trace the Doctor and kill him. Similarly to how River was trained to kill him. I just don't know. But, remember, the Doctor never saw Oswin's face, so he won't know "her" when he sees "her" at Christmas. What does everyone else think?

Mark
Anyone see last night's episode? Anyone catch the theme of the flickering lights? (Street light in Mercy, Brian fixing the light in the Pond house) What about the recurring theme of the Christmas list? And the spaceship looked like an egg, which we've seen mentioned before. zzz
^I also noticed the lights and christmas list :) Maybe the list has got something to do with the Christmas episode? But now you mention the egg... At the end of every episode Amy also always asks to go home, which I find rather strange I have a stupid question about the Doctors age. How did we go from 907 to 1103 to 1200?

The Ponds' life sans Doctor will hopefully be explained fully next week. There'll also be a cameo from a certain Lord Sugar...

The 1200 is probably to be explained that we only get to see just some parts of this travels I guess. I hope so, because it confuses me atm :)
James.
I noticed the Christmas List thing but not the flickering lights theme. Interesting. I guess it's leading up to the Christmas episode  edit: 2000th post :wacky:
dry_pretzels
I didn't notice the flickering lights either. Some people have pointed out that it's similar to when we first saw the Weeping Angels and how they made the lights flicker in Blink. Looking forward to the next episode and the Ponds' domestic life. :wacky:

Mark
Me neither, but I'm less than pleased about the mid-season break. Same. I've become borderline-obsessed. At the same time though, the quality of the episodes has jumped up a notch because there's less room for filler episodes. :wink3:

viva-la-coldplay
^ THIS. Actually sobbing after that episode, that was pure emotional hell. I am emotionally drained. Doctor Who used to be a nice, funny children's programme I'm sure... What happened?!
