Oh god, I need to see them again right now! Is it December yet?? :idea2: :D

Shhhhhhhh... But I think the same thing with U2/Coldplay. I saw them back in May and, although that was an absolutely AMAZING concert (premiere of Wild Horses and they played Party Girl! ), I saw Coldplay 3 months later and actually said "U2 who?". Well I can't believe I even THOUGHT that after the experience I had on the 4th. It's insane the amount of energy and heart and soul they put into everything they do. Not that Coldplay doesn't, it just really is on another par with me. :uhoh: I hope no one kills me for that... :worried:

That's awesome about the all girls tribute band! I'll have to look around for a recording!

Hey, it'd be awesome to see your pictures! Maybe you could post them here? Or PM them to me, I don't mind. I'm sort of a concert picture slut

It really is hit or miss with meeting them. I can't believe I was so lucky and got Adam/Edge/Bono.

*sigh* I swear, once you see U2 live the madness just doesn't stop. I was hoping that after the INCREDIBLE time I had last month that my insanity would die down, but nope. It's gotten worse. :stunned: ;)

Hey, someone watched them! Yesss! LMFAO! I wish I had recorded a lot more, too, but what I was trying to do was get a clip of almost every song so when I sent them to people they could see what the concert really looked like basically from begining to end.

Plus I only had TWO memory cards   When they started playing '40' I had enough left that I decided to try and record the whole thing. Damn thing ran out RIGHT at the end!

Oh well, for December I'm planning on getting another memory card anyways, since I go to so many concerts and take videos, so then I can take a lot longer ones! :wink3: :smug:

^i cannot believe you got so close either!! :o :o

atarisboy86, wow, sounds like you had an awsome time!!! man, i wish i could see u2! and yes, post pix, they never hurt!!!

i know this is a coldplay forum...but u2 is one of the best bands out there, and in concert they are MAGIC! :D

Oh my god, I can't believe I got the rail either. I was so insanely competitive for that. I bet 500 people for that damn spot, and goddamnit, I clung to it the whole night. I mean, I have seats for both my upcoming December shows (Hartford on the 7th, I have MAJOR nosebleeds  ), so I'm thinking of selling them and getting GA again. Honestly, once you go GA for anything, you can never go back. I wont settle for anything less when Coldplay comes back around.

I was just sitting here thinking about how I say U2 is better than Coldplay in concert. Which isn't necessarily true. I just think the sheer POWER of a U2 show simply outweighs Coldplay ones. And it's NOT Coldplay. I think the reason I love going to U2 concerts so much is the fans. They're so passionate, so kind and just the best people in the world. They're all there (well, in GA at least) because of the one love they have for those four guys. It really astounded me at how sweet they all are!! And when it comes time for the show everyone gets SO into it. To hear 20,000 people all singing Pride... I have seen and heard heaven.

The problem with Coldplay concerts, I feel, is that the farther back you are the more your experience is detracted from. I was almost in the last section for mine, but I was lucky and got dead center. It was tough because here I am, with my best friend, and we're COMPLETELY into the show, spazzing out, dancing and singing, and we're the only ones who know all the songs! Or at least all the X&Y songs. I think there's just a lot of college kids who go to be "cool" and get drunk and stoned, then they complete ruin it for everyone else by not even listening to the music.

lmfao I talk too much, don't I? I just felt the need to clarify how I feel towards the whole Coldplay/U2 thing. It's not about the music when I compare them, because I love both band's music equally, but it's about the whole impact of the show and the toll it takes on me.

Now, I just need to get GA for Coldplay and I'll be psyched! :D

EDIT: Ok, I'm sure a bunch of people have heard this, but I don't know if you have Mildred. Unless you got a European Bomb CD or a special edition one (which I didn't), you'd get the extra track 'Fast Cars'. I'm just linking it because I uploaded it today for someone else and figured I'd post the YSI for anyone else who wants it.

It's my current fave song, I love dancing to it :P

Link expires in 7 days, just so you know, if you didn't.

I just bought some upper level tickets for the Oakland concert next Tuesday on eBay.....I'm making my friend lose his U2 concert virginity.....=)

Yah, it's not necessarily that U2 is 'better' than Coldplay in concert.....but if I were to only see one more show in my entire life...I know it would rather be a U2 concert.......just.....wow, I know for sure I lost my voice moreso at a U2 concert and was more into it than Coldplay.......ah, just have both play a concert together.....that would solve it!

I had lower level full stage view seats for this concert......opposite end......and I didn't want to risk not being able to bring in my camera......so what I did is bought a disposable camera......and brought that in.......and here's what I got!(which is horrible, but it kind of works)

This is Bono as he came into the arena......late for soundcheck.....

All In all, it was a beautiful morning/day/night.......we ended up leaving that same morning instead of camping out and trying to get tickets.....as demand was very high.....and well, I'm going up north next week anyways! :)[/scroll]

 Awesome pictures!!! I had some major flashbacks :stunned:

Whoa, that's so cool that you got the tickets to see them again SO SOON! I've got months between my concerts, so it's very frustrating. I got my nosebleed Hartford seats off ticketmaster back in MARCH! Urgh!!

atarisboy86, awsome pics! nice view of the stage! :o :o :o :o

danielle, thanks for the link!! i've actually been trying to get a hold of this track!!! thank ya so much! about u2...it is almost impossible for me to see them now. i was planning on going to the show at tampa...but decided for coldplay tix instead...i guess at this point, it would have been a better choice to buy GA tickets for u2, and then wait until next year for coldplay(remember chris got sick and posponed my show!)! so...i didnt get to see neither this year!

bumped because I'm on a U2 high right now, and it makes me sad to see this thread going a page back. ;)

Hey!

In June 2005 U2 was in a german late night comedy show called "Tv Total" on channel "Pro 7". It was the first time that U2 visited a german show. I don't know if this side was already posted but I think it doesn't matter. ;) Unfortunately you can only watch the videos on this side. I haven't got any downloads of it. If you click on the main picture you can watch the live performance of "City Of Blinding Lights". When you click on the picture of "U2 im Talk", you can watch the funny interview between U2 and Stefan Raab (hoster of the show). They talk the most part in english so you don't have to understand german. If you want to know some german words in this interview, please post it. I can translate it. You can also watch "Vertigo" when you click on the picture of "U2 live zum Zweiten".

I hope you enjoy it.

Is that the video where the host reenacts the 'Numb' video and Bono puts his foot in his face? If so that's such a funny interview  Wish he talked more to Larry and Adam though

I'll check out the link, maybe I'm thinking of the wrong interview.

yep, I was thinking of the right one

I like how it feels like he's saying something completely different when he translates it back to the audience! :P

Thanks for this, the last time I downloaded this the sound was really messed up and it sort of ruined the performances.

Yeah you're right. The host sometimes translated some parts of the interview in a different way, but he also did it with other music stars like Kylie Minogue.

Wow. tis sad I haven't been on here since I saw u2 about two and a half weeks ago.

Can you say life changing experience? it was DC, the first night. I think I died that now. U2 fans are the best, we all chatted on the metro afterward. but god that show just like....whoa.

^It's always that way, isn't it! Believe me, you won't come down off the high for uh..... never.

I personally never came off the high from my May 28th show last spring. :P

I'm all excited because i heard that U2 are coming to NZ!!!!!!!!! I've been wishing for it for a long time

hey everyone.. i went to a u2 concert at MSG back in october and got into the ellipse.. i have some pretty good pics if anyones interested.

I'm interested! ;)

Post them here, if you'd like! Or maybe PM them to me. :D

I think that, since I'm home today, I'll post my pictures from my rail spot back in Oct in Boston.

here ya go! :)

some more..

and still some more..

ok the last ones.. i have more.. but these are the best ones :)

enjoy!

:stunned:

I have to get into the ellipse in December. I HAVE to!!!

These pictures are AMAZING! What kind of camera do you have, and if it's digital, what setting are you using? I spent the majority of my picture taking at my concert experimenting with the different types of flashes, etc etc. Some came out better than others (oh, the irony, I'm listening to Some Days Are Better Than Others right now!  ). When I go back in Dec I'd like to take some REALLY nice ones, so I'm trying to figure out a setting for my cam that will really work.

LOVE the COEXIST ones and the first one of Bono.

Alright, here are my offerings. I took quite a few, and they're fairly large... But I'm sure no one would mind scrolling by! ;) I know I wouldn't!
