Fair enough. I just think it's a shame that's all. Achtung Baby is a classic album. U2 changing their whole style around after the success of Joshua Tree ..and making something to this standard is rare and amazing. A really brave move on their part that worked out exceedingly well.

no leaks yet.. only thing thats out there are the beach clips from a few months back when they were in Fez, Morrocco. There were 5 audio clips some barely audible.

 

if you want to get the latest on this I highly recommend going to interference.com, go to the forum "Where the Album has a name".

Security would be pretty tight on this album, so leakages will be avoided until the last week I would guess.

 

So in the meantime hold your horses, don't go downloading a barely audible clip of Bono singing one of the new songs in the shower, only to get disappointed

^Although I heard they were being pretty tight with HTDAAB yet it still leaked early.

That's because the Edge left a copy of the album on a chair at a photo-shoot :P

well if it ain't the Edge losing the master or Bono losing the lyrics to October you never know what can happen.. Yeah, they are usually tight but I believe there have been leaks on at least the last two albums.

i certainly going to try and fight the urge on whether on not to listen to the leak if and when it shows up.. Mind you it might drive me insane fighting this urge and I may lose the battle but hey doesn't hurt to try right? :D

When In Rainbows came out I went cold turkey on RAdiohead alltogether for 10 days. It was worth it.

Hell... YEAH :D

I have high hopes for this album. The ATYCLB and HTDAAB had some great moments, but they were spotty IMO. I don't think they have put out a great CD since Achtung Baby.

i think U2 did enough on their first 5/6 albums to be able to sit back and enjoy the rest of their careers. the Rolling Stones haven't made a decent album in God knows how long, same can be said for KISS and alot of other bands that everyone still loves. the fact that U2 have only had 3 or 4 decent songs in the last 16years shouldn't really draw anything away from how good a band they are.

Maybe Bono really does need the help then?? I shouldn't have brushed him off then.. hmm.. well, Allison likes me, so maybe there's a chance he'll forgive my lack of enthusiasm..

I think some people are misinterpreting my statement.

 

1. U2 is probably my favorite band of all time.

 

2. They have had some brilliant moments post-Achtung Baby. It doesn't get any better than Beautiful Day or City of Blinding Lights.

 

3. Because I still see flashes of brilliance, I hope they are able to put it all together and come out with album that is on par with some of their early stuff.

 

4. We know that U2 are capable of reinventing themselves and still being great. Look at the difference in style between, arguably, their two best albums: Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby.

 

5. I always expect U2 to be great. I can't stand bands that "mail it in."
