Well guys, about 3 days ago I posted my opinion about the album here, and I gave it a 3 out of 5. But now, all I can say is WOW!! I really really LOVE some of the songs in there. Magnificent, no line on the horizon, breathe, I’ll go crazy if I …….., get on your boots and FEZ- being born are all fantastic songs!! At the moment I give it a 4 out of 5. but im sure I’d like it even more after giving it more listens.

I have no clue why I didn’t like it during the first 3 listens! It could be because it sounds quite different to any U2 record in the past. Did any of you experience the same thing?

When I listen to it, im reminded of the colour grey.

 

And not in a bad way U2 have created a great album without really talking about anything. If the last few U2 albums sounded like the sound on the modern New York and the earlier the American West then this one feels like it exists in its own time and space.

 

Even so the 3rd song is a bit long winded.

I disappeared for quite a while, but I've been keeping up with most of your comments on U2's new album via daily email digests. I have to admit, when I heard it on their MySpace I wasn't hooked right away. But after buying the album Tuesday and having it on repeat umpteenth times, I like it very much! I think this album's definitely one of those that you can't digest and appreciate in just one try.

 

My favorite is ironically the one which I assumed I wouldn't like based on the song title, and that is "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight". I mean, really, what a mouthful lol But it's the one I'm most drawn to and I can't get the "Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone" out of my head. It's my most favorite part, though seems a bit simple, I dunno, there's just something about the melody of that specific part that tugs at me.

 

Others I love are "Breathe", "Magnificent", "No Line On The Horizon", "Fez-Being Born"

 

I can't wait for the tour details! Hopefully I can manage to get tickets this time around and that my U2.com paid subscription will help me out with pre-sales!

Do you only get presale if you paid that subscription... I have free subscription. $50 is alot to pay on their website. :\

But you do a get a double album which is a nice bonus. If you're going to go see them live it would probably be worth it.

I think the new album gets better the more you listen to it. :) "Magnificent " is definitely my favourite track and I'm glad it will be the new single. Oh and don't forget "Unknown Caller". Absolutely love it, although especially the end reminds me a bit of Arcade Fire.

 

I'm excited about tomorrow 9am (CET). Does anybody know if tickets will go on sale then, too? Or will they just announce the tour dates? I'll be at university at that time, but I think about using my brother's laptop during the lessons in the case they might sell the tickets tomorrow morning. ;)

Yes, but you should have subscribed by yesterday, tough in Europe the pre-sale cose allowes you to buy only 4 tickets for 1 show, while in the US 4 tickets for max 4 shows
