Tnspieler1012
In Lost I am looking for a tab that Jonny plays live in the verses I started looking through various videos today and came up with this sequence... xxx400 X4 xxx550 X4 xxx40x X4 xxx77x X4 that's the basic idea anyway. Doesn't matter much whether or not you play the open e. during the chorus it's mainly just chords, I'm pretty sure he plays something like xx(12)(11)(10)(10) at the end of each line. PianoRocker
Indeed the chorus for lost!: I just got lost D [x][x][12][11][10][10] Every river that I tried.. C [x][x][10][9][8][8] to.. G [x][x][9][7][8][7] cross. D [x][x][12][11][10][10]
ricardo
well it's me again :D I was watching a video of warning sign and then I realized that lead guitar was awesome; nevertheless, I haven't found a tab for what Johnny plays... I play something for the intro but I'm not sure if it's accurate but I have no idea of what Johnny plays on the chorus for example
Tnspieler1012
I've got your back on this one. I took this one from the tab section of this coldplay tribute band website. They have some good tabs, although they get a lot of things wrong...but jonny's electric tab they got right. http://www.thecoldplaytribute.com/index.cfm?CFID=126967516&CFTOKEN=48121636 Lead Guitar: Standard Tuning Capo 2nd fret (Intro and second verse) Studio Riff: (all tabs relative to capo) e----------------------------------------- B-6-8-6-8-6-8------------------------ G-----------------7-8-7-8-7-8-------- D---------------------------------------- A---------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------- Live Riff: e-------------------------------------------- B-10-12-10-12-10-12-------------------- G-------------------------9-11-9-11-9-11- D-------------------------------------------- A-------------------------------------------- E-------------------------------------------- ^remember that this is all hammer-ons and pull-offs Chorus: Lead: Strum the G and the B strings (also relative to capo) e---------------------------------------- B--5--5--5---5-------------------------- G--6--2--6--4------------------------- D---------------------------------------- A---------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------- *Although they tell you to strum it, Jonny actually just picks back and forth between strings. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vytDDBiPMRc]YouTube - Coldplay - Warning Sign - Glastonbury 2005[/ame] here's the video of warning sign at glasto 05. By watching Jonny you'll see that this tab is correct, but also use it to get a feel for the rythm with which Jonny's picks during the chorus. The second chorus riff is the same as the first, just played an octave higher. e----------------------------------------- B--17--17-17--17----------------------- G--18--14-18-16----------------------- D----------------------------------------- A----------------------------------------- E----------------------------------------- hope this helps ;)
dorffy
What is the point of using a capo, when no open strings are played?
Superbear
What is the point of using a capo, when no open strings are played? "Chorus: Lead: Strum the G and the B strings (also relative to capo)"
Tnspieler1012
It might help that the last two strings are the same pitch in the first chorus, but I think it's because the rythm guitar is capo 2, and it's easier if Jonny does any strumming. DMBZeppelin
so no-one have a clue about lovers in japan? I'm actually looking for a tab for the acoustic version of Lovers in Japan, anyone have it? Especially the guitar part in the acoustic version that emulated the piano, it sounds great.
Tnspieler1012
well be basically just plays the standard chords and presses down on the fourth fret of the G-string with his pinky. Chords are G, D, C, G. for example D is played xx0232, alternating with xx0432 in rythm to the song. C: x32000, x32400 etc. I won't torture you with the G chord, hold down the high g if it feels comfortable when playing the riff. the chorus is open chords Em, C, G, D (funny, sounds like another coldplay song off of the same album ;) ) after the chorus the chords are slighty different. em7: 022030 C7: x32000 then G and D... ricardo
what do you mean by torturing? what I play for lovers in japan rythm is b-3 b-3 g-2 g-4 d-x then d-x a-3 a-3 e- e- after that: b-3 b-3 g-2 g-4 d-0 then d-0 a-x a-x e-3 e-3 well that's basicaly the intro and the whole song, I suppose you know the rythm, but is this accurate, or am I lacking some d notes with that 4th fret thing? PS: Does anyone have an idea of the lead guitar on green eyes? PS2: I know this is off topic, but I did not know where to ask, but why do many consider the solo on I wanna be sedated like very hard and one of the greatest ever? I mean sounds good but it's too simple, it's just e-0--- b-5---- many times... or am I wrong?
