August 28, 201114 yr I'm hopeless, I know. I'm still on my quest to figure out which concert Chris and Gwyneth met for the 1st time. I'm glad to report I've made some progress. Woooohoooo At the rained out concert in Atlanta on 9/14/2000, the band surprised the fans in the parking lot of the venue and Chris & Jonny played acoustic on request. Chris would try a little dialogue in between songs. So before playing the Scientist, he said (paraphrasing of course): The other day I was gutted. Every aspiring young rock singer fancies an actress. Anyway, the other day we were playing in New York, and Gwyneth Paltrow came to see us. And everyone is like he's going out with Gwyneth Paltrow which is marvellous but not true. But weirdly enough he went on to dedicate the Scientist to Rachel Weisz and said he was gutted when the rumour that she was going to come see them in Los Angeles turned out to be false. Anyway, their last appearance in New York before 9/14/2000 was 8/12/2000 at the Bowery Ballroom. So I'm going to assume that's where they met. Then Chris reached out to her when she lost her dad in early October and invited her to Wembley on 10/21/2000 where he dedicated a track to her. That's my story for now and I'm sticking to it!

So I was right, Chris was referencing the Bowery Ballroom gig on 8/12/2000. I find it hard to believe though that he would just dedicate a track to her without having met her before. That concert at Wembley on 10/21 was Coldplay's 2nd. Could they have met at the 1st concert on 10/20? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Her friends told her after her Fathers death "3 weeks or so" she needed to get out and they dragged her to a CP concert, where after the concert they exchanged numbers at a backshow after party.

I think she was just trying to say, that this is the Gwyneth Thread, not the Chris and Gwyneth thread, open for her fashion, movies, singing, interviews, ect.... If Chris is mentioned in her articles and interviews that's great, but to keep posting about their Love life really wasn't what this thread was about.:cool: I would advise you not to start a new thread in the CP section "Chris and Gwyneth", that won't go over very well. Her movie starts Sept. 8th or 9th here's a clip looks so good.
