A hen party is a party to celebrate that a grl is going to get married. In some countries it is tradition to have a bachelor party. The girl bachelor parties are called hen parties and the girls attending those parties are calles hens. Usually a lot of money is spend in such party. I attented on last weekend, we called it a hen party as well. So there's the future bride (can be anyone) and her friends having a party. That's the term 'hen' for. Not the same as bitch or superficial woman. It's just people that have a bachelor party.

The Meet The Fockers star was shocked when she was diagnosed with the thinning bone condition and she has since researched the problem and now realises its common among all women in their 50s and 60s.
