I finally got to hear Violet hill on the radio today

at exactly 5:09pm on Virgin radio on the highway :nice:

not that much of a special moment but it made me happy !!!

oh and here's a random thought :

My niece was playing with the yellow pages and it made me think of Chris writting Yellow in his kitchen while Guy and Jonny were drinking, and Will was playing playstation .. :nice:

Bearing in mind the population of the UK is about 60 million, and in the US there are over 300 million (I think...)

How come the extras are being revealed so much slower on the Madison Square Garden page on coldplay.com.

They're about 20% behind us... what's taking them so long?!!

as i've said before, my mom likes to play music in the car very loudly. tonight we met up somewhere, and i decided to drive with her, so we left my car in a parking lot. later on, she had to drop me off to pick up my car again. i got out of the passenger seat, and literally a second after i closed the door, the car started thumping with music. i could feel the bassline in my chest, and i turned back and knocked on the window, which she scrolled down. i had to scream over the song:

"YOU WAIT TO BLAST 'VIVA LA VIDA' UNTIL I'M OUT OF THE CAR?!"

and she cracked up and gave me the :sneaky: look.

but really, why weren't we listening when i was in the car?! :P

Guest Grace

i'm an idiot.

it took me more than 3 years to fall in love with "A Message".

i mean, i've always liked it.

but i didn't think it was as strong as the songs from their previous records.

oh my, i fell in love with "A Message".

and now i cannot stop listening to it.

ahhhhh.

sometimes songs just have to grow on you.

today one of my friends was telling me all about a chorus class Im gonna sign up for next year at my school. He said right now theyre singing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and I asked if I could play the piano part. He said sometimes they let students pick songs and play instruments. I immediatley began thinking of every possible Coldplay song that we could do next year.

What would be the best for a chorus?

My first thought was In My Place, though Everything's Not Lost would be good cuz of all the harmonizing at the end. Ooohhh now Im excited for next year!

young at heart did fix you...I dunno, I can't imagine a lot of songs transitioning well to a a chorus. That might be the only that could work.

I know what you mean. I've been going through their back catalogue recently - kinda getting in the mood for the new album - and I've only just begun to appreciate how great "Twisted Logic" is!

Has anyone else fallen in love with a song way after they first heard it?

Yeah, Viva La Vida is awesome. I think it's right up there with the best they've ever done. I love Chris' vocal on it.

I can't wait for the new album and I'm sure I won't be disappointed by it, although already I'm expecting nothing will be better than that: it's going to be a real showstopper at the live concerts - can you imagine 10,000 all singing that chorus?!!

I'm going to see Coldplay in Philly on June 29! :nice:

I'm so happy, it's going to be my very first concert ever! :D I'm going to lose my concert virginity, haha. :P

I hope I would be able to meet them, perhaps the day before while stalking one of the swanky hotels here to see if they are staying there. :P

yesterday, we were in my friend's kitchen, making pancakes for dinner and acting crazy. she put on a playlist of all these old (and TERRIBLE) songs from middle school, like backstreet boys and spice girls and all that stuff. for some reason, when i was going through the playlist "the scientist" was on there and i asked her about it, and she said "oh, it was on one of those old NOW CDs" so i made the :sneaky: look and waited for it to come up on shuffle. but my friend decided to skip over a lot of the songs, and when she got to the scientist, she let litterally not even a millisecond of the first note play before skipping to the next song, and i looked up eagerly and said "YESSS!!" and she looked at me like i was crazy and said "you could tell it was that song buy that note that wasn't even a tenth of a second long?!"

ooh boy, i AM obsessed. she didn't put the song on though, because it was too depressing for the mood, which i agree with, but i would NEVER pass over coldplay!

Haha, I wish I had a friend like that...

Its really really scary, she teases me about Matt Bellamy and then suddenly she'll mention Chris Martin and go all starry eyed...it's a bit like "Wake up, Bea...sure he's got nice eyes but the man is married"
