Hehe....well tough question...I can't really answer it...I mean about general success...

I only can say that I first of all care about the music....I mean that they are good looking is coincidence...

 

when I was 14...i cared about the look more and not about the music....therefore i was a boyband fan....

 

I also can't say that I'm attracted by Thom Yorke...bu he makes brilliant music...that is what counts for me!:wink:

lol Chris in the Yellow vid is not what I call a good looking guy, so no I don't like them because of their look...as many already said this is one of the things you become to be aware of after liking their music (even if it can't be true for everyone), but well to me they're all ordinary guys (...except maybe for Guy :P)

i do believe some musicians are being under- or overrated just because of their looks. Coldplay make great music, it is a fact. but i can't imagine that they'd be that succesful or would have such a big fanbase if they'd be ugly.

Most of my friends think they're less than good looking. Apart from Guy, he's universally recognised as good looking.

I might be totally missing the point of this thread. But when have coldplay ever been seen as a good-looking band?

I can see why the younger girls would find Coldplay attractive. After all when I was younger people found Liam Gallagher attractive. No matter how you look at it he is not a good-looking man. Unlike The Faceman of course lol.

It doesn´t really matter to me wether they are attractive or not, when i started to listen to their music I didn´t even know what they looked like, except Chris, but I didn´t think he was good-looking

I find them all attractive...but not in the classis Rock Idol sense. There's an innocence about them. They don't seem to be trying to be attractive or putting on airs. Sincerity has its own beauty.

HAHA!! What a thread! I've never thought about Coldplay being ugly. They'd still rock my socks with the kind of music they make. And you see kids, the last post on this thread was by Tracie on May 27, 2006. So, little did she know about the kind of music they could posses today! So, there for, if they were ugly, it really doesn't matter.

i don't think it would matter in the slightest, either. when i started liking them, i didn't know what any of them looked like besides chris, and i didn't really find him especially attractive, either. though i did like the way he moved...ANYWAY :P

 

between may and late july 2005, i really didn't know what any of the other three looked like too well, because in the X&Y music videos put out in that time, you didn't get more than a second's glance of jonny, will or guy. when i learned that i would be going to a coldplay concert, that's when i got out the pictures and figured out which one was which exactly. and then...i fell completely in love with every aspect of coldplay after seeing them live for the first time, and the rest is history :D

 

however, i DID used to think that guy, will, and jonny were almost identical, minus guy's hair color. i thought that jonny and will were brothers! :laugh4:

Lol @ Indya!! I don't regret that post a bit, and I still say it's true, but then, I've never been attracted to the classic Rock Idol look anyway. THey're still honest, even with the new musical direction. They're a lot less innocent now that they've been famous for a while, but still honest. Thanks for digging this up. What a fun thread!:D

if chris is really ugly then gwyneth never married him.

The fact that they are all beautiful is just the icing on the cake. Their music stands on its own feet so they could be the 4 ugliest fuckers on the planet and it wouldn't matter to me:D

They're not the everyday attractive anyway, all of my friends in real life say they're ugly with the exception of Guy whom is "ok" :(
