November 23, 200619 yr Noel Gallagher To Play Exclusive Radio 1 Gig Noel Gallagher To Play Exclusive Radio 1 Gig Noel Gallagher will perform his most intimate gig ever in the front room of one lucky BBC Radio 1 listener as part of the network's first Live Lounge tour, hosted by DJ Jo Whiley from Monday 27 November to Friday 1 December. Noel's gig is part of a week of live performances direct from the living rooms of Britain's top headline acts including Lily Allen, The Kooks, The Ordinary Boys and Lostprophets. The week will wind up with a once in a lifetime opportunity for one Radio 1 listener to have Noel Gallagher play exclusively in their own home. Kicking off the week is Lily Allen - whose chart-topping single, Smile, became one of the most infectious anthems of the summer - performing live from her houseboat on the River Thames. On Tuesday it's one of the hottest bands of the moment, The Kooks, who will perform live tracks from their best mate's lounge in London, where they wrote most of their album. On Wednesday, listeners get a special celebrity double whammy as The Ordinary Boys perform live tracks from lead singer Preston's house, which he shares with his wife and Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle. On Thursday Jo hooks up with Welsh rockers Lostprophets as the band perform live from lead singer Ian's mum's house in Wales. And on Friday, the tour has a very special ending as Noel Gallagher performs live tracks from the lounge of a Radio 1 competition winner. Jo Whiley said: "We've had so many amazing artists performing in the Live Lounge all playing their music in a way you just couldn't hear anywhere else which for me is the magic of it. "Going out on the road is going to be really exciting and I'm looking forward to hearing the bands play in their own lounge rather than in ours. "To top it all off we've got Noel Gallagher performing in a Radio 1 listener's home - which for any Oasis fan has got to be the ultimate prize”. Over the years, Radio 1's world famous Live Lounge has played host to the biggest and best acts in the music world, with everyone from The White Stripes and Coldplay through to Basement Jaxx and the Arctic Monkeys and many more. Radio 1's Live Lounge is the established place for both well known and up-and-coming acts to perform exclusive stripped down versions of their music in a way you will only hear on Radio 1, also often accepting the challenge to cover one of their favourite songs creating extraordinary musical moments which have become part of the show's legacy. November 26, 200619 yr Very tough question.. but I'm really fond of 'Songbird' right now' date=' even if it isn't really their song :P[/quote'] Care to explain?
November 26, 200619 yr Care to explain? You mean why I like it or why it's not "their song"? I meant that it's not written by them, it's just a cover.. And why I like it? I don't know, it's just a great song, I've been a fan of the song "Songbird" itself for ages anyway, no matter if it was by the Beatles, Oasis or a live cover by Coldplay.. And the Oasis version is the best, in my opinion.

November 26, 200619 yr She might be getting it confused with the Songbird written by Eva Cassidy or Kenny G.
