The press aren't in the business of being considerate of the people they are after, lol. It's like expecting a hungry shark not to eat you.

SUNDAY MAIL photographer Mark Anderson scooped a top award for this shot of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin dozing on a ferry.

The singer fell asleep on the sail from Arran to Ardrossan after attending his uncle Angus Fleming's funeral.

Mark, 26, won Celebrity Picture of the Year at the First Scotrail Press Photography Awards.

The judges, who included ScotRail MD Mary Dickson, said: "A lovely, observational image which really stood out. You really feel caught in the moment."

Mark said: "I had spent the day looking for him on the island and found he was getting on the ferry.

"I dumped the car and got on board. It was a shock to realise the figure lying asleep was him."

I really really really think we should all start a "Chris to get a haircut" petition.

I always hated seeing his hair like this.

I wish he would drop this whole paranoia thing about his hair falling out!

RIP Chris' uncle.

Arrrgh! Leave those curls alone!!

I fancy his curly locks! but , I MAY BE PARTIAL, AS I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO RUN MY FINGERS THROUGH HIS HAIR, LOL..

That photographer is friggin' lucky Chris was sleeping--he'd probably be "decked" otherwise! :laugh3:

Oh god, bad pun...

Let the poor dude have some sleep without bloody paps snapping away at what is obviously a tired and feeling rather crappy person ;__;

:dozey: this kind of awards might motivate more fucking paps to follow Chris everywhere he goes.... great... he really needs that....

Urgh! The guy attends a funeral and some nobhead looks for him. Don't care if he won some stupid award, he's a tosser.

Also Alyssa that pun was so Markish :laugh2:

What the hell, there are awards for something like this?! Godamnit, that makes me so angry, Chris was exhausted and needed a break, and not even then he could be alone, always some parasites by his side! :veryangry:

I was sick the first time this came up. I'm disgusted now. :sick2: Good grief. You know someone doesn't want to be photographed when the only time candid pictures show up is when something awful happens to him.

*throws rotten vegetables at cameraman* BOOOOO!

*throws piano at cameraman*

its a disgrace he has won a award for this...

His family is in my prayers. May he rest in peace. :)

Contrary to common belief, Chris Martin is a human being, if you took a picture of anyone else without permission, you could be sued and you deserve to be.

Caught in the moment? how about total violation of privacy?

ok, first off i want to say that i hope this guy gets stalked by a photographer on a day when one of his beloved family members is being buried.

secondly, that this guy won an award for taking a picture that he then sold to tabloid mags is pretty disgraceful. it's not like this guy just saw this beautiful, sad scene and took a picture for the sake of art. he took the picture because it was chris martin and because for whatever reason it seemed scandalous that chris was asleep on a ferry.

lastly i want to say - and flame me if you want - i think the picture of chris that is more from a distance that shows the lifeboats in the background is quite striking and beautiful...

^About the beautiful look of the second picture:

You're right, it has something, but the person who is laying there shouldn't be Chris...

I totally agree.

Is there anyway to contact these "people" who gave that piece of trash an "award"? Like some way to email them?
