deaths_friend
i didnt instantly love the song but i'm sure it will grow on me. i prefer White Sky at the moment. its going to take something pretty damn special to top their debut.
tauiwi
It's pretty catchy after 10 listens! I prefer White Sky too. Why does it suit it? Horchata is a summers cocktail, isn't it?

tauiwi
New York City four-piece Vampire Weekend is headed back here this November for one show in Sydney. The well-heeled lads were last here for Splendour In The Grass 2008, following their breakout self-titled debut album. A listing on Moshtix and on the Vampire Weekend MySpace has the band locked in for an intimate show at Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 21 November. While no other dates have yet been announced, this could be a promo tour to drum up hype for much-anticipated second LP Contra. Watch this space. http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/20653/Vampire-Weekend-here-in-November.htm FUCK YOU, EXAMS. AND FUCK YOU, SYDNEY. deaths_friend
^^ are they still the rumours that were floating around fasterlouder? i wouldnt be surprised if they do a show in melbourne also. im in a bit of a pickle. my exams finish on that day but im the first amongst my friends to finish so if i do go i will be by myself. on top of that im going to see pearl jam the next day which will involve standing in the pit for over 5hrs so i want to conserve my energy cos i'll be knackered after 3 three hr exams in 4 days. so at the moment i might give this the miss. strawberryfields
Just found out that my Physics teacher went to Columbia with Vampire Weekend.....teachers pretty much don't get cooler than that. maybe one day I'll end up meeting them through him somehow.. I was at a college visit for Columbia yesterday, and the guy from the admissions office kept repeating the fact that Vampire Weekend went there and that he knew them all. :P Apparently, they didn't even win Battle of the Bands while they were there. :uhoh: That's awesome, though! strawberryfields
Oh and I just found out they're playing a bunch of tiny, unknown California gigs, including one 5 minutes away from me. And the tickets are only $20... hello, Vampire Weekend on November 7!
Grace.
Heard Horchata for the first time today (even though I downloaded it about a week ago...), I quite like it. Very catchy. I want to try horchata now.. :P

Cirrus Minor
I saw them live last summer, and I was very impressed by the use of keyboards, sounding very oldschool, and very pretty.

strawberryfields
I was so stupid and didn't buy the tickets when they were first on sale for their show here on November 7 (they're playing 10 minutes away from me in a tiny little children's theater), and of course they sold out immediately. I don't know what to do, I can't miss the show considering how close it is to my house; but the only tickets I can find online are being sold for more than $100 over the original price. :bigcry:
