Real important facts about Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends

About why are the songs combined? This a pure speculation, but I'd say all the songs were good, the album was way too shortnad if they decided to stay with a reduced number of songs, the solution was to combine songs them to fit as a suite or mini-opera.

About the transitions, it feels like they're...hmm... natural?

Arcade Fire is Chris' favourite group, and Chris always loved how they sound epic and spectacular with oblique lyrics, being indie and remaining indepedent developing their projects. As I said, Markus Dravs, was the producer (well he's really only recognised as engineer) in the "Neon Bible" recording

About Cemeteries: I must reveal I haven't heard it.

I know only that the sound is guided by handclapping, and it's not a dark sounding song.

Don't you know anything about the video, locust?? :D

42 is complex. Think of "Paranoid Android" as an structure reference, and to me seems clear, that despite this, Chris wanted to go away from Radiohead song as a sonic reference.

Yes is heavier and darker than Violet in its first part. (Remember the song combines Yes-Chinese).

No, I know nothing about the video. But I point that maybe you should ask Coldplayer at www.coldplayzone.it, due to the Sicily location filming to see if they finally reached to gather some information regarding it.

Hmm, my final thought that I want to communicate is that I think it's hard this record will leak before 11th June, and it's all I can say.

Yeah, thanks for the insight locust, it really is nice to have something to think about while waiting for the album to be released :)

Awesome information, Locust.

YOU ARE A COLDPLAYING FAN's GOD -- ...except for the band itself, of course. ;)

Too kind of you to allow us this info. Thanks, dude.

:D:D:D

Forget "Who is Prospekt"... "Who the hell is Locust" :P

Forget "Who is Prospekt"... "Who the hell is Locust" :P

LOL, I think Locust is Prospekt:P

Maybe the album title will be Locust!:stunned:

- Yes, Violet Hill reflects and combines in its lyrics political and personal issues (it's exactly what you're thinking) and the "Bucket for a Crown" connections are true, as well as the U2 "Lemon" connection

WTF Lemon?

In which terms VH is connected to Lemon, is violet the colour of one of Chris' mother dresses?

Oh my sweet Jesus........ does this mean that Chris, Jonny, Guy and Will are going to do a U2 and emerge from a giant lemon at their live shows :P ???!!! Breathe in, breathe out, contain excitement. I expect fluorescent lemon-y coloured outfits.

Chris Jonny Will and Guy in 3D?!?!?!?!?!?

*faints*

lol.

lol Who the hell is locust?

I think, due to your comment on the difficulty on leaking, that you are part of the record company or the like. Parlaphone or EMI or whatever.

But thanks anyway for the information!!!

Have you heard Reign of Love? What's the relation between it and Lovers in Japan?

Is it true about the more involvement of the other members of the band with vocals??

Locust you are the man!

Or the woman?

Sounds great! I just wish I had the album in my hand right now!

The songs I'm looking forward to the most are 42 (if it's ever close to being as good as Paranoid Android I will be stunned!) and Yes/Chinese Sleep Chant, I've just had a shoegaze period, so that would be brilliant! :D

I'm very curios on how they've combined the songs to, sounds interesting. But I'm a little disappointed if all the songs will be as short as Violet Hill, that's to short!

Yes. Guitars and guitars are all around, and in one case "My Bloody Valentine" or "Ride" will rise as an influence as the song is certainly influenced by shoegazer sound...

And it's the guitar and the rhythm that define in each case how the song will be...

Possibly like "The Domino State"? *raises eyebrows*

And some important questions I throw up:

- What do you believe is the song that was re-recorded from scratch from all into the final mix (Prospekt said)?

- What do you expect from 42? (And I'll tell you it's not what you can think from Violet Hill listening)

1.- I think the song that was re-recorded from scratch is 42 - surely it's no an easy thing to have a song with 3 different segments and make it sound good.

2.- I expect 42 to be "the fifth essence of music" - that song you have to hear before you die!!!

^I believe the song re-recorded from scratch was Famous Old Painters (then renamed Viva La Vida).

I expect 42 to be a very strange, kind of spacy song. Maybe a combination of a bluesy beat and some guitar chorus effect. Kind of like a mix of Violet Hill and Square One, but with lyrics more defined and mature. One thing's for sure, it will be incredible to hear for the first time.

No, the U2-Lemon connection Locust is talking about is with the lyrics, not the mirrorball lemon or the color of the dress.

Lemon, from Zooropa, has these lyrics:

A man builds a city

With banks and cathedrals

A man melts the sand so he can

See the world outside

Also, Playboy Mansion on U2's next album, Pop, has these:

I never bought a Lotto ticket

I never parked in anyone's space

The banks feel like cathedrals

I guess casinos took their place

The lyrics in Violet Hill (when the banks became cathedrals) is apparently an intentional reference to those songs.

is life in technicolor just instrumental or does chris sing in it? also, do life in technicolor and DAAHF have the same exact melody... i dont get how they are like... the same song or w/e.
