The Escapist really is brilliant. It's one of their shortest songs, and it's light on lyrics, but it's one of the most emotional things they've ever done, I think.

June 5, 200818 yr I thought it was a great twist that The Escapist turned out to be a version of Life in Technicolor. Of course I should've known! I'd already read way back that the same guy wrote them! I love the part in Death and All His Friends where the band just belts it out! "I don't wanna follow Death and all his friends!"

June 5, 200818 yr DaAHF is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs they've ever written, if not the greatest song. Just so beautiful and uplifting... ^^ I really like the Escapist, actually - it's a fitting end to a nice album - out similarly to the way it came, but even more dreamlike.

June 5, 200818 yr I agree, the end of death and all his friends is so moving, standing-up-for-your-beliefs kinda thing... its great. and it's totally grown on me. :uhoh: if that makes sense. It feel like they really mean it, in that chorus bit. beautiful!!!
