Or both? City seem confident this season.. past time they did, I'd say, considering the amount of money that was poured in the club...

Don't be ridiculous. My opinion is that Suarez did not say what was alleged by the FA but did say negrito in a condescending manner which deserved a ban. Also the fact the FA feel fit to state that "Evra's account of what happened is PROBABLY what happened" doesn't really cut the mustard does it?

Just to highlight the hypocrisy of Fleet Street's, Mr Oliver Holt from the Daily Mirror, the quick to scourn Suarez and now Liverpool fans (in the wake of an alleged racist attack towards Oldham's Tom Adeyemi) is a fine example of such hypocrisy. He has revelled in Suarez's ban and slaying Liverpool Football Club in this racism row but when it comes to his hero John Terry it's a whole different story as seen in this tweet from two months back.

It must also be mentioned that Oliver Holt authored two biographies of the Chelsea and England captain....of course neither biography mentioning Terry's drunken abuse towards American's at an airport days after 9/11.

well said. Oliver Holt has always been a cock and so has Evra, he has a chip on his shoulder and he blew the whole racism thing up. Quite clearly Suarez didnt know what he was saying but he's had a bad enough punishment from the media without the FA and all the racist organisations who just jumped on the bandwagon and dont even know the first thing about it. I'm not quite sure how the FA can possibly give out an 8 match ban anda fine for something that probably happened and there is an innocent explanation for. To be fair, Evra obviously isnt immune from responsibility as he was part of it all, but the piss poor investigation seems to have absolved him of all responsibility and culpability!

A game of two halves ruined by Chris Foy the referee.

But somehow Man City come out of it with some form of mental victory. There were some laughable displays by United players. Lindegaard and Evra were just two of the clowns.

Apart from City's secong goal I thought the ginger ninja was quite good. I would say that Kompany ruined the game, he knows the rules. He was off the ground with his studs in the air so what does he espect? But yeah, Lindegaard and Evra were shocking. Ferdinand was about three weeks behind the rest of the players, he was shocking.

Despite the fact I think he got the red card, right Chris Foy had a shocking game. Also, that racism incident at Anfield the other night against the Oldham player was shocking. It's made even worse in light of the Suarez-Evra thing. It's really embarrassing for LFC fans and will give us a reputation.

Perterboro v Sunderland now. Be interesting to see if Martin O'Neill can continue his fine start to his Sunderland project.

What?!

So what responsibility does he have exactly? That just made no sense.

It makes perfect sense. There was an altercation between the two, Suarez didnt say it for no reason, that doesnt excuse it though.

There's altercations every weekend between countless players and it is never picked up on, I don't see why that comes into it. Racism is a different matter regardless of what Evra may have said -which by the way, you have not one clue as to what he said, like the rest of us, and if Suarez is claiming his terms were affectionate then clearly he wasn't offended by anything Evra said anyway.

That's what makes no sense. That is a big bunch of no sense.

But there arent racist altercations every weekend. To establish the facts properly the FA had a duty to question Evra as to what he did but they clearly didnt do that sufficiently. It is also clear that what Suarez said probably wasnt affectionate as you wouldnt use affectionate language in argument. Evra must have riled him.

You're just making less sense as this goes on, and there was none to begin with.

Yes there aren't racist altercations every weekend, isn't that my point? Not yours? Evra clearly wasn't being racist, I don't have a fucking clue what you mean by that. You said there were clearly altercations that Evra may have started (But you don't have a tiny little clue) and I was saying there are always altercations between players, the point being that its irrelevant as there are always things said between player, meaning that Evra has no reason to explain what he said, if he said anything at all, because again, you don't have a fucking notion of what happened.

You really don't have any idea of what happened here, Suarez claims what he said was an affectionate term in Uruguay, which it is, the odd thing is that Evra apparently spent the whole game hearing this term but not even in an argumentative way and was like WTF. You should really read up about a situation before you comment on it.

Anyway just to make everything clear for you, even if Evra had said anything to start it off, the point is that being abusive is not illegal in the FA's eyes, but being racist is. So I really don't get the point that you're getting at, whatever he said, players say shit all the time, if it gets a racist reaction, whatever they say is not relevant.

calm down! I'm not saying that racism is acceptable because it most certainly isnt. If he didnt know it was racist and was using it in an affectionate way then surely there is no problem. He should be informed rather than punished. And what players say is relevant when the whole situation is part of a high-profile FA investigation. Why investigate the racism but not the whole incident because they they would get to the root of it and be able to establish the facts much easier. And I never said that what Evra may or may not have said was racist.

I am just fucking lost for words. Good luck life-ing.

Have you read the report? That is what I am doing now to gain a better understanding of the situation. You are right, I shouldnt talk about things that I dont know enough about. But do you? There is no need to get offensive and agressive.

By Evra's admission he said to Suarez he was going to punch him twice just because he fouled. Suarez then said Evra said to him: 'dont touch me, South American'. So yes, I think Evra does have an explanation to give and does have to accept his responsibility.

No it's just, from the start you've made no sense, and even my last post that you responded to you completely mis-interpreted the point I was getting at (OF COURSE I wasn't saying you said Evra was being racist! That was the only scenario in which I could justify your point beforehand), I just don't know what else to say.

We're (or certainly me!) have lost sight of what we are debating. I stated that Evra has an explanation to give, not just what he claims to have been subjected to by Suarez. Why did he deem it necessary to threaten violence twice when all Suarez had done was foul him? Why did he refer to Suarez's nationality in an identical way that Suarez referred to his colour. They were both stating facts even though they weren't socially acceptable.

So what responsibility does he have exactly? That just made no sense.

Evra is alleged to have said to Suarez somethinh like 'get away from me you South American...'

The FA admit that Evra was provocative but because of the testimony of just one man, Evra himself, Suarez is given an 8 match ban.

Evra was by no means totally innocent.

And as usual the FA have dealt with it all arse upwards!

you couldn't make this up!
