life in technicolour- it'd be ok. but i don't want them to open with it

cemetaries of london- it'd be good

lost- so excited for this one!

42- should be good

lovers in japan will be really good

reign of love doesn't belong in a concert and i dont think they'll play it

yes'll be awesome, as will chinese sleep chant

viva will be really good if cris sings better than he did at grammys

violet hill should be awesome as well

strawberry swing i think would be the worst live, but i still like it a lot

death and all his friends- this should be the best as this song is the best

the escapist- nope. not gunna play it. i hope

What do you want from the setlist?

Personally, I'm afraid that the setlist this time around will be just like that of the Twisted Logic Tour--i.e. essentially the same thing every show with no real changes. Coldplay now has FOUR albums worth of material, plus a multitude of underused B-sides. I'm really hoping they switch things up this tour. Do a Springsteen or U2 and at least switch the setlist up a little every night to keep people guessing (and for us bootleg connoisseurs, give us a little something new!).

What do you think? What do you want from Coldplay's setlist this time around? You don't have to write out a whole one--just throw out some ideas.

Personally, I want them to do Everything's Not Lost/Life Is for Living as a closer again. Absolutely unbelievable and loads better than Fix You in my opinion.

I agree, Fix You is quite passe now. I could go without hearing Yellow or In my Place too. I know many of you will disagree.

I would love to hear Amsterdam, Daylight, for rarely heard tracks.

I would love to hear Clocks, Polotik, Speed of Sound for classics

If I don't hear Yes/Chinese Sleep Chant, Cem of London and 42 on this tour I will be pissed.

You know they will play VLV & VH

If they played Gravity or Such a Rush as a surprise B-side I may die on the spot.

I think they will at least play Yes, Violet Hill, Viva La Vida, Life in Technicolor, Lovers in Japan and Chinese Sleep Chant, because they already played all these song already live.

I think it'll be in this order:

VIOLET HILL

POLITIK

LOVERS IN JAPAN

VIVA LA VIDA

CHINESE SLEEP CHANT

WHAT IF

42

YES

CLOCKS

-- A LITLLE PAUSE --

LIFE IN TECHNICOLOR

DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS

Got to start with Life in Technicolour now........ but should still include the classic openers Politik and Square One. Should include Yellow, Clock, In My Place, Talk, Speed of Sound. HAVE TO FINISH WITH FIX YOU. Then Lost! VLV, VH, Death and all his friends and whatever other newies they want!!

Personally would love any of Amsterdam, Warning Sign and A Message.

Pick Coldplay's Viva La Vida Tour Set List

Alrighty, well Coldplay usually is the master of a good set list.

Let's assume that the concert is 90 minutes long with an average of each song being 6 minutes long. That's 15 songs...

Now, obviously they'll play mostly Viva La Vida songs so be realistic about that as well.... Time to pick your dream set list for the Viva La Vida Tour!

1. Violet Hill

2. 42

3. Lovers in Japan

4. Yes

5. Lost? (I just have a feeling they'll play the accoustic version)

6. Clocks

7. The Scientist

8. In My Place

9. Politik

10. Amsterdam

11. Reign of Love

12. Green Eyes

13. Death And All Its Friends

14. Fix You

15. Viva La Vida

If Amsterdam is on the setlists and I can't go because of the postponement... there's no telling what I'd do.

I see you're from Ohio, you better be going to the Cleveland show in October. :)

(GRRRRRRRRR, it was in July until Coldplay postponed....)

On that Hour special last week Chris was interviewed about all their songs and, kinda funny, when asked about Warning Sign he said something about it being terribly boring, but that he never wants to stop playing it at shows. Personally I'd be fine with either Warning Sign or Everything's Not Lost being played, (I'm thinking they might be trying to push Reign of Love as the new Life is for Living, so I would think if they play RoL they wouldn't do ENL/LifL, maybe).

As much as I love Strawberry Swing, I really don't see them going there with the concert. It'll be like a Message which (if I recall) got the shaft last time.
