Side Effects

Last Chapter

“Here,” said Jonny, holding out half of his sandwich.

“Thanks.” I took the pieces of baguette and dumped the fillings into the paper bag at my feet.

“What are you doing?” Jonny whined. “I thought you wanted to eat it. Man, come on...”

“Sorry,” I muttered, smiling sheepishly. “I thought you were done with it...”

“What are you doing?” he repeated. I gestured toward the ducks that were waddling around a few feet away. Jonny groaned. “The ducks? You little sneak...” I smiled again and started ripping off little pieces of the bread. The ducks quacked and shuffled up to me, sensing a handout.

“Here, mates,” I cooed, tossing them the crumbs. They scrambled to get them, and Jonny chuckled. I had a feeling he was still a bit pissed about giving up half his lunch to the birds, but I knew he wouldn’t say anything about it. He held out his hand, and I gave him the other piece. He took a large bite out of it, and I gave him an apologetic look. But he muttered that he was sorry and started to rip off small pieces, throwing them at the ducks’ feet.

“Hey, man, thanks for coming out today...” I said as I ran out of bread. “I know Chloe probably wasn’t so happy...”

“Chloe’s fine, mate.”

“Yeah, but you’ve been hanging out with me, like, every day.”

“Yeah, well...she understands,” said Jonny firmly. “I promise. Don’t worry, man. You’re not going to dissolve our relationship.”

“I know,” I insisted, frowning in the direction of the ducks.

“Oi,”

I ignored him and shrugged.

“Oi!” said Jonny louder, nudging my arm. “It’s okay.” I finally dragged my gaze to him and smiled.

I guessed he was right. Being raped was a cause of many, many things. It was like taking a powerful drug; not the illegal kind, but like a prescription maybe. The drug had many side effects, but not every one of them was so bad.

After all, Jonny bought me lunch a few times a week.

Side Effects was GREAT Kyra :wacky: Really. every part of it was fabulous! Hope your having fun in nantucket and have more awesome stories for us when you get back :wideeyed:

Chapter 7

Silence

Guy and Fab were just finishing their dinner when the nurse came into the room.

"What is going on in here?" she asked, putting her hands on her hips.

"Just having a little food," Fab told her.

"Why aren't you in that bed and wearing that hospital gown?" She asked.

Fab winked at her.

"I don't really have to wear that, do I?" he asked.

"You most certainly do," she said, trying not to smile.

"And you," she said, pointing at Guy, "You have ten minutes until visiting hours are over."

"What? No," Guy said, " I am staying the night here."

"Oh no, you aren't," she said, "He needs his rest."

"I won't disturb him," Guy said.

She gave him a look as though she didn't believe him.

"Tick-tock," she said, pointing to her watch as she walked out.

"I'm not leaving," Guy said.

Fab smiled at him.

"Will you lay down here with me for a bit?' Fab asked, patting the hospital bed.

"Sure," Guy said.

He laid down and pulled Fab into his arms.

They were quiet for a few moments.

Then Guy said, "I will be really pissed if you die on me."

Fab sat up and looked at Guy.

He ran his fingers down the side of Guy's cheek and across his jaw.

He wiped a single tear from Guy's other cheek.

"You can't get rid of me that easy," he said.

"You Americans are so stubborn," Guy said, with his voice cracking.

"That's how we won the American Revolution," Fab said, "We never gave up."

"Don't you ever give up," Guy said, clenching his teeth.

"I won't," Fab said.

"I love you so much that I can't breathe," Guy told him.

"And that's why I won't give up," Fab said.

The same nurse came in fifteen minutes later.

Guy and Fab were sleeping in each others arms.

She shook her head.

Then she covered them with a blanket and turned out the light.

WHEW! :sweatdrop:

Chapter 4

Biscuit

"Everything looks great," the doctor told them,"I see no problems. The baby is healthy. You are healthy."

"That's a relief," Julie said.

"Now, do you want to know the sex of the baby?" he asked.

Guy and Julie looked at each other.

At the same time they said, "Yes."

"Okay," the doctor said, "It's a boy."

"Wow," Julie said.

"I'll give you two some time alone," the doctor said, "Take as much time as you need."

"A boy," Julie said, softly, smiling at Guy ,"Just like you. A little boy."

"A boy," Guy said, his face going pale.

"I don't think it seemed real until now," he said, "I think I might be sick."

Julie laughed and hugged Guy tightly.

"That's just nerves," she said.

"What if I am no good at being a father? What if......Oh no...What if he turns out like me?"

"That would be the most wonderful thing of all." she said.

"But.....I used to be a real ass," he said, "Drinking and chasing women....What if he does that?"

"I expect that he will, sweetie. Most boys do at some point."

"I don't know how to fish or hunt," Guy said.

"So?" she asked, "Did you do those things when you were young?"

"Well, no, but what if he wants to and........."

Julie put her hand over his mouth.

"Relax," she said, "Take me home. Right now our biggest problem is finding a name and teaching you to change a diaper."

"Diapers?" he said, "Oh no......"

Julie took his hand and said, "Oh yes....luv.....oh yes."

"Guy....Guy...wake up."

"What?" he asked.

"I think it might be time to go to the hospital," Julie said.

"Are you having contractions?"

"I ain't turning cartwheels," she said.

"Okay," he said, putting on his shoes.

"I'm scared," she said.

"It will be fine," he told her, stroking her hair.

"Okay," she said, "But next time you are having the baby."

Chapter 5

Biscuit

Chris, Will and Jonny were sitting in the waiting room of the labor/delivery section of the hospital when Guy came walking down the hall.

He was wearing hospital scrubs with a tiny little inked footprint over the left pocket.

He was carrying a little wrapped up bundle.

Although he and Julie knew it was a boy they had not told anyone else.

They saw him walking toward them and stood up.

"It's a boy," Guy said, in a shaky voice.

"He's tiny," Will said.

"He's just the right weight and length," Guy said.

"How's Julie?" Jonny asked.

"Exhausted," Guy said.

"How are you?" Chris asked.

"I waver between about to faint and about to fly," he said.

They all laughed.

"I have to take him back now," Guy said, "they have to do all kinds of tests and stuff."

"He's beautiful," Will said.

"Thanks," Guy said.

"Wait," Jonny said, "What's his name?"

Guy looked down at his son.

"His name is Joseph Alistair Berryman."

"Is he still sleeping?" Julie asked.

"Yeah," Guy said.

He was sitting in the rocking chair, holding Joseph.

"When can I hold my own child?" she asked, "You have been holding him since the nurse brought him back."

Guy stood up and carefully handed the baby to Julie.

"He really is kind of squishy-looking, isn't he?" she said.

"He's beautiful," Guy said.

"He doesn't look like a fisherman or a hunter," she said.

"What does he look like?"

"Oh, I don't know....Prime Minister....a doctor....a poet.....Yes...I think he looks like a poet," she said.

"No way," Guy said, "I bet he is a race car driver."

"Not my son," Julie said, "That's too dangerous."

"Maybe he is a musician," Guy said.

"Nope,"Julie said, "They are a shifty lot."

"You don't seem to mind," he told her.

"I love you," she said.

The End

:cheesy: JUlie and Guy having a baby :wacky: I WUV IT TO DEATH

I love that Guy comes off as a womanizer. In real life he married the girl he met at boarding school. Can't have had that many girls :D

I know

Bianca said she watched this interview with Guy's old boss at the pub he use to bartender at. And the boss said all the ladies would come in and just order a beer and look at Guy :P He said he was always so so shy around all the girls and just never gave them any attention:P

for some reason that reminded me of what you posted.

Chapter 2

Stuck

"Hey," Guy said, to the girl sitting under the tree.

"Hey," she said back.

"Come here for a second," he told her.

She got up and walked to the car.

"Yes?" she asked.

"You are very pretty. May I take your picture?" he asked.

"What kind of a freak are you?" she asked, backing away from the car slowly.

"I just wanted to take your picture," He told her, "I do that all the time."

"You better get out of here," she said, "Before I call the cops."

"Ooooo," Jonny said, "I bet the chief of police is your dad, right?"

"How did you know that?" she asked.

"Movies, sweetie," he said, throwing the car into gear and speeding away.

"Don't speed, Jon. Speeding scares me," Chris said.

"Speeding thrills me," Guy said.

"Sure," Chris said, "You are in the back seat. Not up here near this death trap windshield."

"That's the breaks when you ride in the front," Will told him again.

Chris gave him an evil look.

"I get it, Will," he said.

Will laughed an evil laugh.

"Then let me ride in the front and your pretty face is safe."

"Okay," Chris said, moving from his seat.

He was trying to climb into the back seat and Will was trying to climb into the front seat.

"Ouch!" Jonny said, "Someone kicked me in the head."

"Keep driving,"Guy said.

"It hurt," Jonny said.

"Oh Jonny I'm so sorry," Chris said.

"Look!!!! A bar!!" Guy said, jumping up and down in his seat and clapping his hands.

Jonny did a quick U-turn in the middle of the street and swung the big automobile into the parking lot.

They all jumped out and headed to the bar.

"I need a drink," Guy said.

"You always need a drink," Will said, slapping him upside the head.

Screw you," Guy said, "I know what I like."

Jonny rolled his eyes.

"Everyone knows what you like," he said.

Chapter 3

Stuck

Inside the bar it was dark.

"What's that smell?" Chris asked.

"Urine," Will said.

Chris wrinkled up his nose.

Guy rushed to the bar.

"Beer." he said.

The bartender and another customer sitting at the bar looked at him.

The bartender took down a baseball bat from behind the register.

"What did you say?" he asked, slowly.

Guy swallowed hard.

"Beer, please..."

"That's better," the bartender said.

"Excuse me," Chris asked, "Do you have some bleach or some other cleaner that I can use?"

"Why?"

"Well, I don't want to tell you how to run your establishment but there seems to be a thick layer of....something...on this bar."

"So," the bartender said.

"I am rather delicate," Chris said, "As I am sure you can tell.....not like these other three hulks here....and I prefer not to get my hands dirty."

"Ah ha," the bartender said, "I knew there was something odd about you."

Guy was just about to take a drink of his beer when the bartender snatched it away from him.

"Get out....We don't serve your kind in here," he said.

"You mean musicians?" Chris asked.

"No."

Jonny tapped Chris on the shoulder.

"He must mean.....you know."

Chris giggled.

"That's right," the bartender said, slamming the baseball bat down on the bar.

"We don't serve Englishmen."

"But I'm not English," Guy said, "I am a Scot."

"Well, that's different," the bartender said, handing his beer back to him.

"The rest of you better get out of here," the bartender said, pointing the bat at them.

"Come on, Guy," Chris said.

Guy frowned at him.

"Later, man," he said, "I'm having a beer."

"Yeah," the bartender said, clapping Guy on the shoulder, "Leave my friend, the Scot, alone."

Chapter 5

Stuck

"I think you lost him," Will said.

"The cop?" Jonny asked.

"Yeah, him too. But I think you lost Chris back there."

"What?" Jonny yelled.

"Oh yeah," Guy said, nonchalantly, "I knew there was something I was going to tell you.

He flew out the window when you went over the railroad tracks."

Jonny threw on the brakes and backed up.

Chris was sitting by the side of the road.

"Were you just going to leave me out here?" he asked, wringing his hands.

"Out here with these ....these..people who don't even know how famous I am?"

"I'm sorry," Jonny said.

"Sorry the train didn't come by first," Will muttered under his breath. But Guy heard him.

"Good one," Guy said laughing, reaching a hand up to give Will a high-five.

"If you two are quiet finished, "Chris said, "Will someone help me up? I think I broke a nail."

At 4 pm on the dot they returned the car to the rental counter.

"How did you like our little town?" the man asked.

"Not much to see," Jonny told him.

"We like it quiet here. Not much for out-of-towners," he told them.

"Just for curiosity," Will asked, "What do people do around here for entertainment?"

The man gave him a blank look.

"I don't know what you boys are involved in but we don't tolerate that stuff around here," he said.

The End

I was trying something different with that one and with Kidnapped.

My Star is Fading

Part 6

Chris' POV

“Jonny!! Stop!” I was practically lying on the couch, with Jonny leaning over me. And he was tickling me. Can you believe that? He was tickling me. I'm a quite ticklish person, you know, so it's basically cruel to tickle me. Sure, I may have taken his hat first, but that's still mean.

“Then give me back my hat!”

“Why? You look fine without it!” He really does. He looks fine with it on too, though.

“No, I don't. Now give it back or I won't stop.”

“Come on, Jonny! I'm an injured man, you can't torture me like this!!” That got him to stop.

“Oh, you did not just play the injured card. Well, I'm a self-conscious man, you can't take my hat like this!”

“But I just wanted to wear it and look like you, Jonnyboy.” I made my saddest-looking sad puppy face. Despite my cuteness, it didn't work.

“Well, that's very flattering, but I want my damn hat back.”

“You can be me, though! I'll wear your hat, and be you, and you can-”

“Sprout an afro? I don't think so.”

“It's not an afro! It's just... a bit curly.” I ran my fingers through my luscious locks. They were getting a bit long. “OK, maybe it's an afro.”

“I don't think the hat will even fit over your hair.”

“Fine, ruin my fun. You can have your hat back now.” I threw it at him. He grabbed it, placed it on that adorable little head of his, and then had the nerve to smile at me all smug-like. So I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Hey, I'd keep that tongue in your mouth if I were you.”

“Why, what would you do if I didn't?” Of course, I knew what he'd do, but being flirty is fun. I thought I knew, anyway. It seemed obvious.

“Well,” he began, leaning in closer to me. “I would say that I'd have to do... THIS!” And then he started tickling me again. Not what I expected. I swear, one day I'm gonna... no, actually, I couldn't do anything to Jonny. I love him too much. Maybe I'll just tickle him... except I'm not sure he's ticklish. There's only one way to find out, though.

“JONATHAN MARK BUCKLAND!”

“What?”

“I'll take your hat again!”

“No, you won't, because if you do, I'll just keep tickling you.”

“AHHH!!! Wait, stop!! I have something I need to tell you. It's... super important.”

“Fine, what is it?”

“I love you.” He smiled and kissed my cheek.

“I love you, too.” Being with Jonny was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I really needed it, too, after the whole Rachel situation. Most of the time I was with him I would completely forget about her and everything she did to me.

It had been some time since I'd seen her last, a month or so, and I was glad for that. I had moved out of the flat and was staying with Jonny. Things were going absolutely great. The only problem was I just couldn't shake off the feeling that none of it was over.

"But won't it look cool every time I come in for a landing?" he asked.

"It's a bee," Chris said, smiling broadly, "It's a bee so Jonny can pollinate my flower."

:lol::lol::lol: "well-formed rainbow" :wacky::wacky: poor Will. :P

one question, though... did Chris and Jonny get tramp stamps or just tattoos on their backs? :inquisitive::P

Just tattoos.

I don't think a bee and a flower would be big enough to be considered useful in the way tramp stamps are usually used.
