The latter is not to be confused with Song of the Year, though, which is an award that is more geared toward songwriting.

February 9, 200917 yr Coldplaying hasn't been loading for me well, so here's are my overall thoughts so far: - Better performance than expected, though I'm still not keen on Jay-Z's contribution to Lost!. - Extremely pleased VLV got Song of the Year, though I thought Record of the Year would have also been a sweep. Guess the panel wanted to "mix things up" by going with the most unpredictable thing. Bleh. - I always thought Album of the Year was going to be the biggest toss-up award, but with that Record snub, I'm even less confident.
