other random things i forgot to mention about the concert:

well first i want to congratulate jenflor on her upgrade! that's great!

~ok so at one point before the show started i saw this woman and we made eye contact and she smiled and waved at me so i smiled back, but i had no idea who it was. just thought that was kinda strange.

~also, a woman who sat near us was wearing a hat like jonnys and started to get really excited like me when blue danube came on. we looks at each other and we could tell that we each knew what was going on. thought that was cool.

~the yellow balloons came near us several times, but only twice did we actually get them, though i never actually got to touch one because my taller guy friend who was with us kept hitting the ballons so i never got to touch one! :P :disappointed:

~Guy answered my wishes. i had hoped that he would wear the red shirt, which he did, and i had also hoped (with little confidence) i would get lucky and he would wear those pants that arent the jeans. the ones that are kind of like jonny's pants. AND HE WORE THEM!! thanks Guy! :dead:

i might have more that i think of later.

Aww Lauren this video of Phil is so cute ! And this gesture he does with his hand :wacky:

And LOOOOOOOL x1000 to your last video, OMG I'm deaf now, your scream is even worse and more high-pitched than Liz' one :P (you both are gonna kill me :D) and I was scared for your camera when you touch him !

Anyway, I totally understand, you're really lucky and I'd have done the same

Hi again, everyone!

OK, now that I've had a few hours to let the whole thing sink in, I'm ready to write my review... First off, let me just say that I've been to A LOT of concerts (including CP twice before, U2 and Prince), and this was far and away the MOST FUN I have ever had at a show.

I bought tickets for this show after I'd already spent a lot of money on tix for the Houston and Dallas shows in July. So, for SA, I decided to just buy the cheap nosebleeds and take my sister for her birthday. It was her first time seeing Coldplay.

Then, after joining this forum and reading about the possibility of being upgraded, I started hoping that we might be able to get an upgrade, too. We got to the venue about 6:15 and picked up some souvenirs (tour program- gorgeous- and Chris' bracelets for me; t-shirts for my sister) then headed up to our seats in the 200s - directly across from the stage. Howling Bells came on a few minutes later. We liked what we got to see of them. Not 5 minutes after sitting down, we saw a guy and a girl with red hair and glasses dressed all in black, holding envelopes in their hands, standing on a landing just below us, scanning the seats. I knew they were roadies there to give upgrades, so I smiled in their direction and made a show of pulling out my program to look at. They then turned and walked up into the section next to us. After giving an upgrade there, they continued on, in the opposite direction from us. We figured our chance was gone, so we got up to hit the bathroom and grab a drink before Snow Patrol started.

While walking to the concession stand, I noticed a group of girls standing around a guy. I looked more closely and noticed this guy had a pass and a Coldplay Crew t-shirt on. He upgraded the girls he was talking to, then turned and started walking away. My sister and I turned around and sped up to catch up to him. I tapped him on the arm and said, "Excuse me, are you with the band?" :sneaky: He said yes, then I asked him if he could tell me where the c-stage was going to be set up. He looked at me like he wasn't quite sure he should answer that or not, but then went on to tell me basically where it was going to be. Then he said, "but don't tell anyone you heard it from me!" We assured him we wouldn't, and thanked him (and at this point my heart was sinking because I thought he was going to leave). He then said, "You must be a big fan if you know about the c-stage." That was all we needed. Yes! we said and my sister launched into how I'd seen them twice before and how I was going to see them again this summer and that this concert was her b-day present. I told him I'd seen them twice before on the Twisted Logic tour, and he said he hadn't been with them for that one, but that they were having a blast on Viva. I threw in something about them being in NOLA the night before, and he looked surprised, and smiled. Then he said, "Hey, do you know the name of Coldplay's first album?" :stunned: I knew what that meant and very nearly could not form the word "Parachutes", but I did. He asked to see our tickets and said that there was a problem with our tix, and he would have to take them... but would we like 4th row instead??? :stunned::dance: We said, YES PLEASE! He was really sweet and told us his name, and gave us each a hug and sent us to the floor. THANK YOU, ROADIE MATT!!!

But the biggest surprise came when we got to the floor and realized that due to the stage set up, 4th row was in fact the first row directly in front of the stage, and our seats were DEAD CENTER. :dead:

Snow Patrol was awesome. I really only knew Chasing Cars before the show, but I will definitely be buying their albums. They were smiling and flirting like crazy with all the hot chicks (it was ALL women) in the first row and put on a really good show. I have a tiny snippet of video from Chasing Cars that I'll try to post later.

Then came Magnificent, Jay-Z and the dancing roadie (he was awesome!), and the Blue Danube. By the time our boys came out I was in heaven. The show was absolutely phenomenal... everything I hoped and more. I do agree with Kspillers about Chris' voice; it didn't quite have the same warmth (for lack of a better word) it usually does. That said, they were still mind-blowing. Everyone around me was having a blast, the crowd was fantastically loud- Chris commented that if they had known SA was so loud, they would have visited a long time ago- and the visuals were incredible. Chris also said some cute stuff in the improv c-stage bit- mentioned SA's beloved basketball team, the Spurs; intro'd Will as the scariest, but secretly nicest member of CP; Guy was nicest, but secretly scariest member of Coldplay and... ACK! I can't remember what he said about Jonny... anyone??

I'm sorry for the super long review, I just had to get it all out and I know you guys are the only ones who will really appreciate it! :)

All in all, the BEST show I've been to... but I've still got two more in July... :D
