Please please can someone give me a rundown? I started scrolling through posts, but you guys were busy! Will the show be uploaded somewhere in the next few days? I'm in California, and my daughter had a soccer game at 1:30pm here, which is 9:30 in England, so I missed the show. I know there was a live streaming broadcast online somewhere, but I don't know how to record video with a timer on my computer...(iMac, btw).

Thank you so much - maybe this will help with the Coldplaying withdrawals.

well, it was a very nice tv special, the band looked relaxed and they mixed interviews and concert footage. They talked a lot about the early days. Probably it was recorded and we might see a video in the next few days. It's the best coldplay tv special that I've watched.

VIVA on EMMMYs wooowoww.sorry wrong thread.Just got excited

Alrighty then, I went hunting for any sort of south bank show video and it seems that itv1 does not put this show on the ITV player at all. Also any video on the web seems to be fan recorded and uploaded onto youtube or torrent downloading sites. However, they do have a podcast that gives some extra info from their interviews, but the last one they have is from a William Goldman episode from April so thats a long shot as well. :\

Someone seems to have it the multimedia thread but we need to ask him top upload it....

This is ridiculous.why is it so hard to find.I'm sure someone in the UK recorded it on dvd or something

is it possible that the show will be re-aired at some point in the near future?

can't believe we don't have it yet in the multimedia section!!! let's pray is up there SOON!

I missed this. I hate myself :disappointed:

Guys,I know,that's not a place to put this info,but I can't create a new thread:confused:

Coldplay are nominated for MTV EMA 2009 as tha Best World Stage Performance!!!!:P

Whut?! I have a whole night of sleeping behind me and there's no upload?!

What's happening to Coldplaying :stunned:

No, just kidding, I'll wait. :)

Thank you Lore. I keep checking the on-screen guide for Coldplay shows...How We Saw the World is on HDNET Saturday morning and Glastonbury 2005 is on Palladia a couple of times this week.

So, when was the interview recorded? Was it all post-Wembley, or pre-recorded before then? Did they go into The Bakery? Did they play any songs? Did they mention anything on the next album?

There might be spoilers ahead, but i'll try not to give away many specifics.

It was definitely recorded before the Wembley gigs, it spanned a few weeks or maybe a few months during the early part of the 2009 tour I think. They showed parts of the Tokyo gigs, so I assume it was recorded roughly around that time. Yes, there was a LOT of Bakery footage, which was awesome - a lot of interviews with all of the band sitting around a table, some with just two of them in what Jonny called their "living room" - it was all really relaxed and great.

The band members talked a LOT about their early days as a band, clarifying a lot of the stories we've heard them sporadically mention over the years, including why Chris sacked Will - he actually goes into detail about that story. You see Will and Jonny visit Jonny's bedroom in his old flat, where they first rehersed as a band. You also see the band members visit a lot of the pubs they first played in and stuff. They also talk about how Will keeps Chris and Jonny from getting carried away with certain musical directions, and he also admits that he never really liked Clocks until Chris wrote the "You are" part in the song.

And as for new songs / material? There was at least five minutes of those Eno sessions that Chris wasn't a part of a few months back, where just Will Guy and Jonny were doing their thing on synthesizers and drum machines. The music was very different and sparse but what I heard of it, it sounded interesting and progressive.

And of course, there was the song everyone is getting excited about - Wedding Bells, which Chris played the whole chorus of on acoustic guitar. That was definitely one of the highlights, but the whole thing was just highlight after highlight for me. I really hope someone recorded it digitally, because I only managed to tape it on VHS.

But really, overall, its the best Coldplay interview that I've ever seen, bar none. It has everything you could ever wish from a special like that, and it's a full hour in length. :nice:

I thoroughly enjoyed the South Bank show last night

It was lovely to hear the band talk so candidly about their early days, and it was great so see their win at the Grammy's, and nice to see them so relaxed :)

There was quite a lot from late January in the studio, Chris was missing because he was doing all those acoustic radio sessions at Absolute, R1, R2, R6 etc

No upload so far?! :disappointed: Well, someone must have recorded it and we just need to wait a little longer.

The South Bank Show!

Well, whats the verdict?? I thought it was brilliant. It showed Jonny and Will taking public transport around London, the bakery studio in Camden, the pubs they had their first gigs, and Chris duetting backstage with Gary Barlow! Amazing stuff and a great insight into what drives them. Brian Eno was with them in the studio and had asked that Chris stay away so they could have a jamming session without his "pre-formed" ideas, as Brian said, diplomatically! It was really enjoyable and they came across as such lovely guys, which we all know already, of course! Enjoy your rest, lads....you've really earned it!

Hello, we need an download link....;)

Can anyone upload it????:(

Anything? Can't believe I missed this, was thinking about it all weekend! Must start using the reminder function on my phone....

My dad recorded it to dvd so if anyone here can let me know how to upload it, I'll put it up later on :-) It was great!

Hi Suzy,

you'd make us all happy if you did that.

Nope, no upload so far...

We're waiting for Emily who tried to upload it yesterday. I don't know if she finally managed to do it?
