Southern California’s top rated Alternative Rock Radio station, 98.7fm, presents an exclusive “Stripped” performance event with one of the biggest and most dynamic artists of the day, Coldplay. The performance will take place at a secret location on an undisclosed date in July, and the ONLY way to get inside the show is to win passes from 98.7fm.

 

Having sold well over 5 million copies of their current album, “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends,” Coldplay is wrapping up their tour by doing this exclusive, private and intimate “Stripped” performance for 98.7 listeners. “Stripped” is an exclusive in-studio performance series created for artists who thrive on performing without the typical studio and video embellishments. The signature series in Clear Channel’s stable of online programming is shot with four to six cameras in an intimate studio. The performance will be distributed across the Clear Channel Radio network of websites (including http://www.987fm.com : ) on a date to be determined.

A bit random, but does this mean Orange County is an actual place? I always thought it only existed in that tv show! :lol:

I wish it were imaginary. My ex-girlfriend lives there. :lol:

 

I'm not sure I get that station over here in Ventura County, though. :( (which is right across the LA County Line)

Hey, Orange County is a nice place, and not everyone who lives here is like that tv show (although I do see those housewives around town). And Coldplay must like it, they played here last November and are here again next Sunday. They're going to have a busy day on the 19th, what with the Star 98.7 promotion, and the KROQ 106.7 promotion that I won, and the concert that night! I get to have Cocktails with Coldplay before their concert and meet them!

Ok, the details for the Star 98.7 give away are: Listen at 7:20am and 8:20am, this week. They will give you a keyword to text to them. The winner is chosen randomly from the texts received at that time, and notified and announced on the radio. The 7:20 am winner was on the radio at 7:38am. So two winners a day in the morning.

They say the code is unique, but each time I went back to the 8th Continent page it was the same "today's soymilk3874"

Did anyone win? Or go to this? I entered online over 25 times via the star 98.7 website (with the trivia questions and all that) but I'm not sure if I won... I don't think I did because I would have been contacted already.. but just making sure haha

I won the contest, I was texting nonstop from Mon-Wed (I won on Wednesday.) The secret show was on Sunday, basically we waited in front of Capitol Records for a few hours, then when it got to hot, we all walked to the backside of Capitol Records to sit under some shade. That's when Kennedy from Star 98.7 came in and asked some trivia questions relating to Coldplay, as some form of entertainment. The winners received some cd's. When everything was ready, we were escorted into a studio inside Capitol Records. There was an open studio set up, behind which were benches for the winners and Capitol Record workers to sit. Coldplay arrived and sang about five songs, I don't remember all of them, but Chris Martin was cracking jokes whole time. Mainly about the so many lawsuits about Viva la Vida. They sang Billie Jean, and then Chris let Jonny sing a song. His announcement was funny as well, he called him the shyest man in the band, and then looked at Guy and said "okay maybe second shyest" then looked at Will, and said "okay maybe third shyest" After performing for about twenty minutes, they answered a few really strange questions. You could tell that they were in rush because they had to perform in Irvine that same day. So basically, they sang, we all had close seats, and then the end.

Finally a review! I entered like the mad coldplying crazy fan that I am....even scoped out last minute flights just in case ;) ---Star97.8 website says pics are coming but I haven't checked today to see if they are posted. Congrats to mariewashere!
