February 26, 201016 yr Roadie #42 - Blog #112 February 26, 2010 10:23 pm #42 and the stadium show remembering After my first day in Buenos Aires being wonderfully relaxed and tourist-y, it's been heads down getting the show together for a bit. It's a little strange going back into stadium-sized gigs after a lengthy period of relatively normal living. I distinctly remember going into the European shows feeling very, very comfortable and relaxed. A hundred and fifty shows on one tour will do that to you.... Here though, the stadium feels absolutely enormous (basically because it is...). Everyone is trying to remember exactly what it is that they used to do to make sure that their little cog in the machine kept moving smoothly. We had a great run through with the band yesterday, in the empty stadium. That's shaken the dust off nicely, but I have a feeling that 50,000 screaming Argentinians is what we really all need to get us comfortably back into gear. I'm sat outside the dressing room where I believe Guy and Will are chatting to a film crew from Brazil. I can hear the crowd beginning to fill the floor outside. I'd better go get busy with cables or something to keep the nerves at bay. February 26, 201016 yr Okay, forgive me if this sounds silly and/or gross, but I don't understand how this would work in a stadium gig where you are all crammed down there on the ground without assigned seating... What if you have to pee?!? Do you lose your spot, since there's no assigned seating? I mean, if you've been in queue for numerous hours, not to mention the boys don't go on until 21:00, are you just S.O.L. if you move from your spot? Ha, that was me when I got a PIT ticket for Dallas last year. I wasn't sure what to do. Luckily, the PIT wasn't as full as it could have been and everyone was crammed into the center (between the two mini catwalks) so I just decided to stay at the back and then moved around right next to the rails and catwalk when I wanted to be close! I was still close to passing out at the end since I didn't really drink that much and it was of course super hot in Dallas in July... But yeah, I think it would be hard otherwise... I'm glad I did it though, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten THIS close: :awesome:
