Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games

Featured Replies

The games are hosted in CANADA this year! I'm actually kind of surprised there isn't a thread yet (unless I really missed it).

But the Torch just made it's way through Toronto today, and through my community outside of Toronto.

I saw the torch bearers running today, and saw them exchange the torch as well. It was pretty cool :) I'm really glad I managed to see it, especially since it's the first time in my lifetime that I'm able to see it.

Did anyone else see it in Canada yet?

absolutely psyched for the olympics. It also means a big influx of beginners for my curling club which is struggling right now.

Once in a while:P Every few months or so I'll make a few posts.

I actually just found out that my cousin was a torch bearer! I think he was actually standing in for someone, I don't even know how he managed it. But the pictures were pretty cool.

Yeah I know! We definately need to win something... apparently a lot of athletes have been getting injured though. Not just Canadian ones though.:stunned:

I looooooooooove winter sports! Too bad I live in a tropical country. :dozey:

I love watching luge, bobsleigh and curling. And ski jumping too!

I'm looking forward for a better games than Torino 2006 and Salt Lake City 2002! :nice:

I wish we had winter :disappointed:

I hope we´ll meet Canada in hockey final cup ... and we´ll win...of course :P

I'll be watching! I'm a huge alpine skiing fan!:D

maybe in a few hundred years when the weather goes topsy turvy, we might... :disappointed:

...but in the meantime, pls support our Malaysian national ice hockey team!!! :D

(tho they are only actively competing regionally, as far as i know)

Prorogued. The whole world gets to see how incompetent our government is just in time for the Olympics! :bomb:

I prefer the Winter Olympics over the Summer Olympics by a mile. I like figure skating and it's disappointing to know that Jeffrey Buttle of Canada is not participating. He was a good skater and very enjoyable to watch. So for the men's figure skating, it could go back to Pluskenko of Russia, who I feel lacks any artistry and does just jumps and the judges give it to him (they did at the last Olympics). As for the ladies' event, I say Yu Na Kim of South Korea has that, she's on fire and she's quite good. For the pair's event, I say it will come down to the German team (whose name I can not spell) and Shen and Zhao of China. I don't care for the dance competition.

As long as he's only there to watch.

Anyway, owing to his lack of aerial ability, he should really have been called Eddie The Duck.:P

:lol:indeed. mind you, ducks can still fly. maybe eddie the chicken?

but he wasn't scared

eddie the turkey. that's more fitting.
