Though I know a bunch of other disgusting diseases^^

NOES, he's absolutely amazing :nice:

Depends on the specialty, I heard somewhere that to be a neurosurgeon I have to do 2 years of surgery and 1 of neurology, or something like that..

So it would be 9years all included to be a neurosurgeon?

Here I think it's 11, too bad I don't wanna be one

we're learning about cellls and braaainnss in science...

we looked at onion skin in a microscope :cheesy:

shit, I can't forget the aroma of formalin from the cadavers that we saw in the med student's building. All I ever wanted to do was to spit-the smell seeped in my throat for the rest of the day :dozey:

Yeah, the smell is pretty bad, and the worst part is that somehow, you feel like you stink of it, your lab coat, your hair, lolz.

Sorry about it, but it's a very interesting syndrome :nice:

Sirenomelia? I know the rest :awesome: Today we talked about Huntington's disease and Treacher-Collins. Doctor said we'll visit a place where we can see some kids with syndromes and everything, but that scares me a little.

I had an anatomy test today :wacky: I'll get a good grade :nice:

I'll be old and lonely by the time I'm a neurosurgeon. But I guess it's worth it.

well I don't know if we'll going to sneak into that lab again :thrilled: I'm not actually a med student

Oh, sounds creepy^^ We couldn't do that here since we're almost 300 students, would be a bit hard to handle for those poor kids

Why lonely? Doctors are not necessarily lonely

i'm gonna get a medical degree and become a bartender. yay.

No, you're not.

yea. i'm not. i would end up being a freaking heartless doctor who eats money out of people's pain.

All doctors do that. There are few that do have the devotion to help people with an open heart, but most of them are just in it for the money.

Not really, I guess the more you give to society the better you get paid, professionally speaking.

All doctors do that. There are few that do have the devotion to help people with an open heart, but most of them are just in it for the money.

How can you possibly know that?

Doctors need to be somewhat callous, otherwise they'd get too emotionally attached to patients in their job and possibly make bad decisions. It doesn't mean that overall they don't really care about helping people, they'd have to be heartless to feel like that.

If they get paid a good wage for it, they aren't going to turn it down.

Oh and tell social workers and nurses they're overpaid.

I think for all the work they have to do with university, medical school, internships, trainee stages then possible more training for a specific area of expertise, they deserve to be paid well. They do their best to save lives, even if some people don't deserve to live and they uphold their hippocratic oath. None of the med students i've ever known have been in it for the money. They spend 5 days a week in university whilst the rest of us were in two or three days and got to go out a hell of a lot more than they did.

It's also true that they need to depersonalize to a degree, so that their emotions and feelings don't mentally fuck them up. HAS SCRUBS TAUGHT YOU NOTHING!!!?!?!?!?! :D

Grey's Anatomy has taught me everything I know man.

Yeah, suuuure...

I almost don't know any student who's in it just for money... maybe I don't know the good ones?

Gotta agree with you^^

Again, I see that U2 weirdo-arrogant-fuck had to make stupid comments.

YES MATE SOME DOCTORS DO IT FOR THE MONEY, OTHERS HAVE THE PASSION TO BE NERDS AND FREAKS ABOUT MEDICINE BECAUSE IT'S SO INTERESTING AND EXCITING, AND A FEW OTHERS DO IT TO HELP.

Whatever their reason is, med students/doctors sacrifice a lot more than a.. hm.. ok ok.. everyone else.

We get special treatment, we are the only ones with real legal support and some laws were made specifically for doctors, why?

Cause without them, no one would ever be able to treat a disease.

An architect can't save you, a lawyer will suck your money. And if they seem arrogant, I think they all have the right to feel that way, since they do something entirely different, natural and amazing than any other crap.

And do people consider it? No.

They think we're ok with spending weekends studying for a mid term, they think we love staying up all night reading a fucking book, they think we don't suffer this shit.

And to make it worse, when a doctor is trying to have a nice, quiet, relaxing time, they come and start asking for treatment :nice:

And what do they do? They help.

But no one ever understands, no one cares, and the only few who care, are med students/doctors, and that's sad.

So stick your fucking arrogance up your ass, stop talking about money, since I think you have a pretty weird obsession with it and with yourself, and fuck you.

/Bitch.

Ok sorry, but I'm having a very bad night.

I'll take pics  They say there's a Crouzon in there.

Um.. freak doctors who spend their life in a hospital struggle to find a good partner. Or that's what I heard.

AH YEAH, btw Perrine, have you had pharmacology? If so, is it really necessary to be practically an expert in physiology?
